My Ladakh ride
Hi friends, sorry for the delay in posting.
Here is the travelogue of my 1st big solo ride, to leh. Also my 1st ride over zma. Day 1 – chandigarh-manali I started late, around 11A.M. So was moving lil fast and not clicking much 1st break  falling rocks, wasn’t a big problem  enroute  it started raining near pandoh , so covered the saddle bags with tarpaulin sheet. before manali tunnel  clouds above  boosting up my spirit  kullu bypass

Day 2 Manali – Zing-zing bar.
Terrain towards rohtang, saying goodbye to tarmac       traffic jam, fog, blasting going on for four laning…..what else I needed     I was waiting in the jam for the road to be cleared , after few minutes 2 guys on a motorcycle came from opposite side, I asked them, they said bike can go , so I moved on and I encountered rocks on road, my bike got stuck in between them struggling and pushing it hard I made out of it.  ppl stuck on other side advised me not to go further, route to leh is closed etc etc, but I moved on thinking that lets see till what point I can go at rohtang top, blasting and weather wasted a lot of time  it was very foggy till koksar after dat weather cleared up but then it was total offroad  dark clouds  at tandi  entering lahaul  a small and silent water crossing  snow view  wasted a lot of time at rohatang pass, so could not make it till sarchu. It was getting dark with baralacha la to cross I dint wanted to risk it up so I stopped in tents at zing-zing bar. Had food and good chat with truck drivers and 2 ladakhi guys driving ford fiesta and then went to sleep. Last edited by sans4ver; 10-10-08 at 12:48 AM. |

Hey nice trip road seems to hv gotten even more worse...... compared to when i had gone in sep but nice pics write a log if u can....

Hey Sunny, the long wait was worth... thats a great start.. Solo on bike to Leh, one thing that we all love to be served here... Keep it coming...
PS : Manali - Rohtang, the worst patch, takes toll out of you... Lucky you reached Zing Zing Bar.. We could only make it to Sissu by 10:00 PM ...
