Part 2:
After around half an hour waiting, our turn came for boating. Boating was not in a good state. Though boats were maintained nicely, however, life jackets are in very bad shape. There was no way you can wear them as straps were missing from almost all of them. I gave some gyan to instructor there about safety and how its absence can play a bigger role in reducing tourist traffic at that place. I think he gave me respect as a customer and listened patiently and nodding in yes for all reasoning given by me. (Must be thinking, just take a ride and go back). We rode in boat for good time. We took 3 rounds of a tiny island in the reservoir lake. We surely must have taken more time than prescribed, however, didn’t get a call from deck to come back.
Once, we were back at deck, boat ride contractor was waiting there. Probably, instructor informed him about the (un)friendly discussion, I had with him. By chance he recognized my father and spoke to him in corner for 3-4 minutes. He was requesting not to lodge a complaint against them and they were in the process of replacing and repairing life jackets, as told by my father to us. I forgot to add earlier, I told instructor that I will take pictures of all jackets and send them to Tourism head office. Poor guy thought, I actually took pictures, however, I didn’t. Official complaints mostly work in favor of consumers. At least I experienced that, when I lodged a complaint in AXIS Bank, NOIDA branch, first complaint in their complaint book, I enjoyed more than priority customer status almost for a year.
After boat ride, we drove to other side of reservoir and it was a good view, free from the tourists.
We all walked for at least 3 rounds on that stretch.
My father found some house plant for us there.
Kids enjoyed the scenery and open nature. We spent another half an hour there, before starting back to home.
Overall we were out for little over than 2 hours, however, we enjoyed each moment of these 2 hours.
