Default Riders on a storm

How do you define a driving holiday?
Is it one where your fuel expenses are 4X your eating and lodging expenses.
Or is it defined as driving continuously as long as you holiday.
So do do 1600kms on 4.5 days count as one.

Anyways, whether it was a driving holiday or not, thats immaterial. What matters is that we had a real blast.
And here is a small small teaser

Default Day 1 Delhi-Anandpur Sahib

Thanks to election holiday + 1 day leave, we had 4 days at hand.
So what to do except head for the hills.
With the weather being what it is in Delhi, we wanted to see snow.
Now which place can guarantee you snow(and if you are lucky, snowfall) in may?
Rohtang of course!

Manali is close to 600kms from Noida. So we decided to break our onward journey. We hadn't bean to Anandpur Sahib for a long time, so decided to stop over there.

Started from noida at 3:30, and it was an uneventful drive. Got lost due to silly markings at Sirhind, but only 10 minutes lost.
Eventually reached around 10am, with one fuel and food break at McDonalds Rajpura

I discovered the best route to Manali also. Do not go via chd. Go to Sirhind(take NH95) around 1km before the town, and head straight to Morinda. From Morinda its barely an hours run to Ropar, and from there its a quick 40 minute dash to Anandpur sahib. Hardly any traffic at night, and decent(though not very good) roads!

You miss all the chd traffic, and the cops too who are too eager to jump on out of state vehicles.

Did not take many pics that day
