Wari La Pass during The Bone Freeze Season

Hi,

You all have always been the best riders and explorer but on other side me being a new comer explorer such a place where no body has ever been that place .

Being influenced by your works me with my younger brother(Jaspreet Siddhu) and cousin brother(Surjeet Walia) dicided to explore warila pass in winter season.

Warila Pass is a 5,250m (17300 Fts) high mountain pass in Ladakh region of Leh District. Warila pass is as well fourth highest road in the world. The pass is an ideal base for trekking and is the highest pass in Nubra Valley trek. but we have dicided to cover this pass through my bikes.
The situation there was worst than one can imagine the temperature was below Minus and the road was sleeper due to black ice that much we felt several times in road.

Itinerary for Warila Pass -
Day 1(17th Oct 2008 ) = Leh – Khardung La – Khardung Village(Night Stay)
Day 2(18th Oct 2008 ) = Khardung Village - Khalsar(Turn before 3 Kms)- Agham village - Tangyar village - Wari la top - sakti village (night stay)
Day 3(19th Oct 2008 ) = Sakti - Karu - Leh

The road was under 2-3 Fts ice covered and the bike were ingaged the ice several time

We were facing sufocating problem due to the cold and my cousin was having severe problem as his hand got stuccked


Most of the time my cuision was pushing the bike bcz due to heavy layer of ice on road, we were unable to drive the bikes and he was walking the road on the top near about 5 Kms.

Awesome! Had heard the story of your ride to Wari La pass from you earlier but these pics are simply more than what I had thought they would be! Most people would have given up seeing such conditions but you, well what can I say, the pictures speak for themselves!

Well said, Navnit; the point to note is that this guy does these conquests in near impossible conditions!
Others will surely follow, but it will likely be in much 'tamer' months!
