Couple of weeks back, we 3 guys from bangalore had been to Agumbe.
This place is known for its non-stop raining attitude next to Assam.
We have been to this place few times, but never checked in monsoon.
The weather report was properly filled with thunderstorms..we were fully prepared(mentally) for the ride..
but then there was heavy cross winds..Karizmas were always ready to take-off in air..
had to use all muscles to keep it in ground..
lots of tree falls, floods,..we had a whole lot of fun in those 2 days. did a little bit of trekking as well to visit Barkana falls which is located into dense forests.
We went to Kundadri hills also..temple in the top and there is a ghat section going 8kms up..there were few tree falls here also and nobody in the top..the place looked just wild.
Route we did..
Blr-Hassan-Chikmagalur-Agumbe-Thirthahalli-Shimoga-Blr.
pics below..
there was one more trip happened last weekend also..that was even better than this..will post little later..
Fun starts from this deviation..
Flooded Thungabadra river
One of the tree falls we faced after chickmagalur..
KSRTC offroading..
Agumbe town..yet to wakeup at 9am
The only Agumbe Busstand/stop..bus goes inside that cover to drop the people..bcz it will be raining outside..always!
Enroute Barkana falls view point
Barkana falls
Heavy wind/fog/rain in the view point..the place is inside the forest and its abandoned in the monsoon..
Second hill is Kundadri..the top was under heavy fog.
Tree fall blocking our way while going up to Kundadri..
another 5kms to top..what to do now?
No probs..we go offroad..
We managed to pull one zma through that ditch and went triples to the top..
Kundadri..there is one stunning view below this temple covering all Agumbe surroundings..but this time its fog covered!
Yes Yes ... Hitanshu bahi .. go man go .... u will have lots of of roading opportunities )
This week end I was there and I was stuck in house for 2 complete days western and central lines stopped ... flooding ... ground floor flooded by sewage and top floor flooded by leaky roofs were a common situations )
but, what made the trip worth was ... walk on marine drive in the high tide and stormy raj kapoor style rain with my soon to be better half ... than lunner (lunch + dinner) in a cafe ... damn I want to go to mumbai tooooooooooo
Awesome ride and pics arun Btw, i have one query, i see you are wearing the knee guard (KRP?) even i have the same, but the last time i wore it to maddur, it neatly scraped off large amount of paint from zma's tank, now how did you bypass that problem?
Nowadays i wear the guards under the cargos.
