Amazing pic's Yogesh. These temples are really amazing with some fantastic sculpture. I have been reading about the temples of Kharjuraho in a book written by William Dalrymple. He is a scot who now lives just outside Deli.

Another 5 inches of snow here in Inverness. Everything covered in snow ans ice now.

Thanks Jimmy, what is his book called?

5inchs of snow, wow! Here the temperature doesn't seems in any mood to touch 1 degree, which until a few years back, we could see in Delhi!

Day 3: Khajuraho, Lakshmana Temple, Part-2

Statues outside Lakshmana Temple

One of the major difference between Lakshamana Temple and most other temples of Khajuraho is, its Jagati i.e. platform where the temple stands, is well preserved and laden with statues. So it is time to come down to the ground level and start shooting statues on Jagati.

Khajuraho Temples are known for erotic statues, and Lakshmana Temple's jagati contains some of the most graphic ones.

However, what most people fail to mention/see is that it not only contains the erotic status, but also statues depicting almost the whole life cycle of Chandella people, including war, the other thing which they were famous for.

Statues placed behind the Lakshmana Temple
