Day 4: Lake Pichola, Udaipur

Here is another vintage beauty, 1936 Vauxhall 12



Now a four wheeler of different kind, which was only powered by 2-4 houses!



Since it was now getting quite late and we had seen and photographed almost everything, we decided to head to Lake Pichola, in hopes of capturing the sunset there.

However just as we were about to leave the Garden Hotel, we were stopped in our tracks by this pleasant and vintage looking petrol pump built next to the hotel parking lot and no doubt used to tank up the vintage beauties.



By the time we reached Lake Pichola and setup our tripods, sun had already set behind the mountains. However the lovely hues of sunset were still pretty much present.

Bhuwan and I were having the time of our lives, trying to the capture the beautiful Lake Pichola with all its heritage hotels. While others around us were a little amused and curious by what two big fellas were doing with their cameras mounted on tripods and that too at night!

Here is one of the conversations Bhuwan overheard:

Girl: what are they doing?

Boy: photographing

Girl: but it is night, what would they be able to capture?

Boy: I tried capturing photographs at night once

Girl: then what happened?

Boy: photograph came out all black!



Thankfully both of us were a little luckier than that boy; here is a photograph of Hotel Taj Lake Palace and Leela, that I took at around 7:15pm.



However it wasn’t until I captured the photograph below at around 8pm, that I was finally somewhat satisfied. Though I sorely missed a DSLR and a good zoom lens and have vowed to not only return with one someday, but also stay at Hotel Lake Palace, at least once in my life and spend at least couple of days photographing it and Lake Pichola; after all, who in their right mind, wouldn’t want to stay here:



After our photography stint was over, we tucked away our cameras, folded out tripods and headed back to the hotel, knowing that the sightseeing we have been sorely missing out on for the past couple of days, have been more than made up in the last 4-5hours.

Thanks Shamik, yes Udaipur has a lot to offer and we didn't even scratched the surface of it during this trip as it was meant to be a meet. Hopefully will go back there soon and try and cover the things, I could only dream about, during this trip.
