2015 Android Mobile Phone Offline GPS navigation

Searched lot of information but not getting the right one especially the latest one...

Can someone tell me which is the best free app in Android for Offline GPS maps and navigation.
I also want a app which is not download heavy as I do not have a Wi-Fi connection at home.
I just want detailed maps and voice navigation, other details like POI features etc are not necessarily required.

Sygic seems to be of 750 MB and free only for 7 days.Will its voice navigation work after 7 days free period?

I downloaded MapFactor Navigator but its maps are not detailed at all and the GUI is no where close to google.

Other apps which I have read about is:
1) Here maps
2) Waze
3) Navmii/Navfree

I am confused as I cannot use and try each map before I begin my journey coming week. I am not asking for Ladakh specific GPS applications, just want generic intercity travel Offline GPS free app.

As of I am interested in free apps only, might be after my journey I can think of buying offline maps

Please help.

Try "Maps.Me". Although it would still use atleast 200 MB of data for just basic India Map without routing. If you want routing info as well, may have to download more. It is free, so give it a try if possible.

You can also try OSM.

Sygic is supposed to be free, though I had paid version as well. However since the last update, it stopped working. Since I rarely use it anyways, I uninstalled it and I am now happy with Google Maps for most of my usage and OSM in case I am at place where there is no data connection and map isn’t already available offline on my phone.

I have heard good about Sygic maps and wanted to download it. But the problem is its a 7 day free trial period. After that I do not know whether it will work or not. Also downloading 750 MB over not so stable 3G connection is a challenge in itself.

I'm using "Be On Road" GPS maps. I'm using this app since last 6 months and it's absolutely free. It gives almost all the information of Speed, Altitude, etc.

I have a Sygic for my Android phone, it's downloaded size is around 750MB . though it is free for 7 days it is working afterwords also. I had done pune - kullu -manali -shimla-agra-gwalior trip last year with the help of it. and it's performance is quite good.

Till date best offline maps I have used in almost all my trips "SUCCESSFULLY" were the Nokia Lumia Here maps.........its literally unmatched......

AFAIK You can't have offline capability and no download together.
I have Sygic navigation Maps for North America and they work great. There is a lot of one time download involved.
Second I tried Here navigation app. You can use it online as well as offline. For offline you need to download maps. Great app. But again one time download is required.

Try OSMand
It is free offline navigation app. I have tested it on various trips.
download size will obviously be more since you are downloading a whole country map...
