Good morning all, my first post here, and my second time traveling in India, so please don't judge me too harshly ✌!

Looking to start today from Amritsar to Dalhousie and tomorrow on the Sach pass. Does anybody know if the pass is actually open or not?

Would also like to continue on to Kaza in the next days, so hopefully Kunzum pass will also open.
Depending on internet connection I'l post updates from my way.
Sach Pass is open. However, Gramphu to Losar section isn't yet open. So if you're planning to travel to Spiti, then you might have to wait a little.

You can bypass the closed stretch by taking old Hindustan Tibet road...
From Recong peo to Pangi then onward to Rarang village ...
The road is very narrow and treacherous for 10 kms
drive slowly and patiently ..

Pin Valley road uptill Mud is also doable even on low ground clearance vehicle

Rohtang Pass is now open for tourist traffic. However, SDM Lahaul-Spiti has advised bikers and trekkers to avoid Lahaul and Spiti till next season and keep a watch on the weather.

I arrived in Bairagarh this afternoon but I turned back due to snow. More bikers came back and some people are apparently stuck on the mountain. Will update tomorrow when I know more, but at least for me Sach la and Spiti is kind of out of the question for this season, sadly.
All be safe!

Skip Sach and Kunzum. Take the Chamba - Mandi - Jalori Jot - Rampur route and head to Spiti.

Hi Yogesh,

I am planning a solo trip to Kaza by bus on the Shimla - Kaza route
Will be reaching Rampur on the morning of
7 th Oct and then going forward from there and was planning to take halts at Reckong Peo & Tabo.
I don’t have a fixed itinerary and want to keep it felxible
Wanted to know the current running status of the HRTC buses on the Shimla Kaza route and the possibility of going ahead with this plan in the current scinerio.

There is a landslide near Powari which is preventing buses from crossing over, at least till yesterday. Hopefully it would be fixed soon, in any case you can easily find a shared taxi as well, if there is any road blockage for buses.
