During my return journey from pangi valley we came through Manali side. Between Tandi and Rohtang there are two places which are bit difficult at the moment. First one is few kms after khoksar where the road is caving in due to landslides, one earthmover is more or less permanently stationed here. Indisciplined local taxis are further increasing the mess by not waiting in the queue to let vehicles pass one by one. The 2nd one is approx 4 5 km after this towards rohtang with a 30 40 mtr stretch of rock trodden track with full nalah flow. Here also even 1-2 of the first time bikers were not following the simple rule of attempting the stretch only after allowing the oncoming vehicles which have already got into the track after giving sufficient indications. The tandi-manali stretch otherwise has become phenomenally superb compared to the condition during our last drive in 2010.

Thanks to Mr. Sarkar and BCMT forum. Just completed Ladakh trip from Ahmedabad , Srinagar - Leh - Manali route. The route is OK except Koksar to Rohtang pass that also when it gets slushy due to rains. Travelled in my SX4 Zxi sedan ( total 4 persons) . Followed advice of local taxi drivers and took Nubra valley to Pangong lake via Agham- Shyok route - more wild life and no monotony . No issue with the route and vehicle.
Sea of information on this forum helped in planning and execution of the trip.
Thanks again & Regards. : PSJ
