Not true, vehicles are moving on this route and I didn't see any vehicles being stopped.
Good to know about this.
Movement started is good but support for basic needs is nowhere means avoid this route.
Safety concerns are also there and one should avoid Kashmir for sometime.
Protests are also going on and will follow for more time.

Use Srinagar Route at your own risk

A friend was stopped recently and questions were asked where he was going.
He had to return.

Monsoon Rain is till 6 September 2019.
If western disturbance comes later,
You have to be alert at Manali.
Check weather news for Manali regularly after 10th September as predictions are more accurate for coming 3-4 days.

Reached Manali yesterday,,,

Roads from Mandi to kullu are very bad in shape ,,,

Kullu to Manali 38 km is very good in condition ,,,

There are 2 routes for Manali where the board before 38 km from Manali says

Via naggar and via patlikul ,,,

Choose the road via patlikul ,, it's best

At 2 places the road is washed away on one side lane due to floods on this stretch,,, roads being cleared and traffic is diverted via another lane ,,,,

Will update again after reaching leh ,,,

Rohtang Grandfu road became swamp

Hello All ,, reached leh yesterday,,,

Manali to jispa update : 90 % roads are in good conditions ,,, while climbing to rohtang came across 2 places of just 100m slush and it's not so difficult to cross ,, one can easily cross these 2 ,,, while getting down from rohtang becos of recent cloudburst the good tar roads are blocked so there is a diversion of around 5 km ,,, which can also be done easily as there was no rain it was just dust and stones ,,,,

Once u get down of rohtang roads are very good till jispa

Jispa to Leh update : jispa to sarchu 60-70% good.
Normal water crossings if you leave early morning,,,

Sarchu to Leh : most of the roads are good with newly laid tarmacs.

Mandi, September 21

With the Rohtang Pass and Baralacha La receiving mild snowfall on Friday, ride is going to be riskier on the Manali-Leh highway in the coming days.
The Manali-Leh highway crosses through the Rohtang Pass and Baralacha La in Lahaul-Spiti.
With the temperature plummeting, the road has become slippery due to frost. The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has stopped its bus service on the Manali-Leh highway and the district police have also removed their check post from Sarchu.
The Lahaul-Spiti police set up a rescue post at Sarchu every year to keep a tab on the movement of vehicles from Himachal to Leh or those entering from the Leh side.

Sarchu is a disputed land as the state government has claimed encroachment by Jammu and Kashmir on it. The matter is being looked into by the Central Government. In the absence of a police post, travellers won’t have an easy access and will get no help in times of need.
However, Keylong SDM Amar Singh Negi said: “After September 15, the police post is removed from the area. Travellers should be cautious while commuting on the route.”
Regional Manager of the HRTC depot at Keylong Mangal Chand Manepa said the bus service had been stopped on the Manali-Leh highway in view of public safety. Last year on September 21 and 22, sudden snowfall had left over 4,000 tourists stranded in Lahaul-Spiti.
The police also removed their check post from the Chandertal lake, which is also prone to heavy snowfall.

Damaged Bhuntar bridge halts traffic

Damaged Bhuntar bridge halts traffic

Kullu, September 21

The traffic on the Bhuntar Bailey bridge today came to a standstill after its one steel girder developed a crack.
The NHAI authorities carrying out the repair work said the bridge would be restored soon. The bridge connects the Kullu-Manali National Highway and the Bhuntar-Manikaran road — the only link for the Kullu bypass road.
Many vehicles were stranded on both sides of the bridge and commuters were troubled. Anita Sharma, a resident of Chharodnala village on Bhuntar-Manikaran road, said she had to go to Bajaura and was able to reach home through Jarad road after lots of difficulties.
Locals said the damage came to fore only after a military convoy crossed the bridge. They said the NHAI authorities sprung into action and started repair work and halted the traffic. Vehicles coming from Manali were stopped near Mahadevi Teerath temple and those from Mandi were stopped near Kalheli.

The concrete bridge was washed away in the 1995 floods and a Bailey bridge was built in its place. The narrow bridge permitted passage of only one heavy vehicle at a time and thus the area witnessed frequent traffic jams. Besides, it was damaged by a truck carrying heavy machinery in 2008 and was rebuilt in 21 days. The new Bailey bridge having more load capacity was again reconstructed in December 2017. The then Kullu DC had said that the construction of a new concrete bridge would take about one year, but so far nothing has been done on ground.
