Hello BCMTIANS,
Its a long time since, I went to any place to roam around/relax/run away from the daily routine of OFFICE - HOME - OFFICE....This time I want to visit hills/riverbed etc.... So hills are in my mind since some time now and looking to visit one cool and calm place to visit....
To put my thoughts into plans I discussed my thoughts at My Sister's place 3 weeks during a family get together..We had a discussion as kids are going to have holidays from 1st June, so we made a plan to visit Devprayag, A confluence of River Bhagirathi Ganga and Alaknanda. But as per the famous phrase, plans made to be broken....
Same goes with this plan as well, but the best part was it was not dropped....but extended....So now it was planned that we will visit Khirsu first and than we will go to Devprayag and return back to Gurgaon. So the plan was:
Day 1 - Gurgaon -Meerut - Kahtuli - Bijnor - Najibabad - Kotdwar - Satpuli - Khirsu
Day 2 - Khirsu- Srinagar - Devprayag - Rishikesh- Haridwar
Day 3 - Haridwar - Gurgaon
But Again as I said, plans created to be broken...My wife was not able to get a leave on Monday, so we need to cut short the 3 day plan to a Two day plan...So the final itinerary was:
Day 1 - Gurgaon -Meerut - Kahtuli - Bijnor - Najibabad - Kotdwar - Satpuli - Khirsu
Day 2 - Khirsu- Srinagar - Devprayag - Gurgaon
Below are few facts from the journey:
Total Members - 8 including kids
Total Distance - 805 KMs
Fuel expenses - Rs 3000/-
Vehicle - Maruti Ertiga VDi
Stay Options - GMVN Tourist Rest House, Khirsu
Total Expenses - 13K
Time taken, Day 1 - 10 hours (Including all pit stops)
Time Take Day 2 - 17 Hours(Including all pit stops)
