Once the monsoon rain starts it becomes lush green everywhere and then the whole landscape unfolds the beauty of nature. Gushing water, Muddy or Milky waterfalls, Blowing winds, mist, fog and all in height or in plain, every thing is just beyond imagination during this monsoon period. Once the monsoon starts its time to visit waterfalls, high mountains and valleys etc. So this season to visit Thosegar waterfalls near Sajjan Gad, Satara was my destination and the vehicle was Maruti Swift Lxi.

We started early at 8.30 a.m. Reached Satatra about 110 Km.s from Pune. Approaching through old Pune Satara road we crossed the Satara Tunnel towards Sajjangad, Thoseghar road.Thoseghar is another 20 K.M. away from the Satara Tunnel

On the way to Thoseghar...............a view of Urmodi Dam from the notch of Sajjangad .

Chalke wadi and Thoseghar is camouflaged far off in the lush green valley at the background!!!!!!!!

One can observe a pipeline climbing upwards to Sajjangad.

    Pic 042.jpg

I was curious to know about the magic behind the water supply through this upward connection
to Sajjangad that too for round the year
    .
The passerby told us that the lake on the adjacent hill is the source of the magic.

    Pic 041.jpg

So we turned right towards Padsavde village and climbing for a while we reached the Pangare Lake

    Pic 024.jpg

    Pic 025.jpg

That was an amazing siphon system, which is used to carry the water from this place to far away on to Sajjangad.

The real India. I Love my India......Padsavde a beautiful village with paddy fields and souranded by hills.
My wife was so fascinated by the sight that she declared to stay there in Padsavde after the retirement.
