Accommodation options in Kargil/Sankoo and Srinagar

Hi,

Me with my wife would be travelling to from Kargil to Pensi La and from Kargil to Srinagar in Sept 2012.

Please suggest me some safe, clean and decent accommodation option.
Also please let me know whether I can book those options well in advance or not.

J&K tourist bunglow at Kargil is an excellent option
Last I remember is rs 300 for a room
Pl see devashish dhingra's thread on this place.Tel no and photo is also there.
You want a hotel in srinagar or a houseboat?
How are you travelling?
Somebody else will have to reply about Pensi La

Kargil to Pensi La means Suru Valley..
Suru valley has 5 JK Tourist Bungalows between Kargil-Pensi la
Sankoo 40 kms from Kargil
Purtkechy(dont know the distance)
Panikhar 70 Kms from Kargil.
Prkachik 100 kms from Kargil
Rangdum 135 kms from Kargil
These JK Bungalows can only be booked from Srinagar or Kargil.
Asst Director,Jk Tourism has his office in Lower Kargil.You can go there and obtain a permit for stay at those 5 above mentioned GHs.
Still I believe,you would be able to spot book a room in those GHs like i did in my earlier two occasions.

You just walk in and ask caretaker of GH.
If he has empty room,he will let you stay.
