Accommodation - Pangong, Tso Moriri, Nubra.

There are many home stay options in Spangmik. All in the range of 150/- to 250/=.
The so called '3' star tents are rip offs...most charge to the tune of 3500/=.
If you look around, you may find some tents in the 500- 1000/= bracket.
The hunt is time consuming.

Pushpinder Ji,

Thanks so much. Actually I may have phrased my question incorrect initially, but these were the "options" I was asking about. I hope to get into a good homestay, am sure that will be an experience.

Will be staying overnite near Pangong for the first time, though I understand the homestays will be further inside Spangmik and not quite lakeside.

But thanks all!!

What's OT btw?

You are right here.
If lake side is your first choice, only options are camp/tented accommodation ,range starts from 100 bucks to 3600(MAP ) per night.

All,

Might be a silly question - but how easy would it be to find decent accommodation if booked on the spot and not in advance, in places outside of Leh such as Pangong, Tso Moriri or Nubra.

I am sure Nubra has many options (Diskit, Sumur, Hunder), and so does Leh itself. So we should find acco. somewhat easily in these places I believe. But please confirm if I am being over-confident.

I certainly am concerned about availability in July for Pangong and especially Tso Moriri (I can see only Korzok listed as an expensive option in the latter's case, and there are not too many options in Pangong that are decent enough for a group of 5 considering there are 2 females in the group.)

We are roughly planning to be in Pangong overnite on some night between 20th-23rd July, and for Tso Moriri it would roughly be any night between 25th-29th July depending on how the itinerary evolves. In case we just have no options, maybe we can shell out money in one place, but hopefully not all.

And given we are even willing to pay, what are your experiences about any places being vacant for 4-5 people (at least 2 separate rooms) in these places between these dates?

Thanks,
Shirish

hi,
we are two couples planning to visit ladakh in august.. our travel dates are 4th to 13th August.. we have a similar confusion with regards to booking accomodation..

should we book in advance for our stays at Leh-Nubra-Pangong-Hanle-Tso moriri? or should we go for spot on deal hunt?
your experience shall help us plan better..

also, how is august as a season? is it difficult to get accomodation without prior booking? too much of tourist rush?
please advise.. thanks :)
