Accomodation in Auli

Hi

Need help. A friend of mine is planning to visit Auli in Feb (5th to 13th Feb).

Please suggest accomodation options in Auli or nearby. He is keen on staying at Auli, and doing skiing for 2-3 days.

The GMVN option is already explored, and is working out to be expensive with min tariff at Rs 2500 and max at 4000 per night.

Please suggest private guest houses / hotels for accommodation with family.

Regards

Hi Sandeep, there are very few options available in Auli. The cheapest one is the GMVN and the other one is Clifftop, which is much more costlier than GMVN. It's better to stay in Joshimath and take rope way and do the skiing activities.

As far as I enquired the ropeway will cost around 500/- for a return trip. Also one can always take jeep from Joshimath to Auli costing around 30/- per seat.

Sad. No lodges / guest houses / home-stays?

PS: It's only two of them, my friend and his wife. So they might just stay back in Joshimath and take the jeep / roopeway.

Mohan: Any places in Joshimath that you can recommend please.

we went last year and there was no snow at all at Auli :(...we stayed at GMVN Guest house at Joshimath and it was worth a stay..we got a big room with 2 double beds at 400 Rs....there are two other @ Auli one GMVN cottages or huts and other i think a private property hotel named cliff top and charges are almost 5-6 times than GMVN..

GMVN Huts are very small and do not have central heating. Whereas the deluxe cottages are too good with central heating and all.
