Advice needed-Ahmedabad to the 7 sisters

I plan to visit the NE by road from Ahmedabad staring end of February or March beginning. Would be glad to get some advise. The tentative route planned is as follows:
Ahmedabad- Kota- Allahabad - Varanasi - Patna - Siliguri --?? Some information about us: We are four of us travelling by a Santa Fe (4x4). I am 61, my wife, daughter (32 and a keen driver, like myself) and a friend of my daughter. Time is not an issue, and having understood that it is the journey, and not only the destination, that counts; we plan to visit places on the way to the NE.

1. What should our route be after Siliguri?
2. Should we include Bhutan?
3. Stay possibilities? While we don't require 5* luxury, we do like clean, good accomodation with vegetarian food.
4. Any do's and dont's?
5. Shall be afffixing new AT tyres in the Santa Fe. Any experienec with the Santa Fe? Ok for the roads there?
6. Any other sugesstions?

Time is not an issue. Thought of 30 days. wanted to do all the states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland

Best time for those NE states are from October mid to March end...
30 days is a good duration..

Sanuroxz. I must place on record my appreciation for the trouble taken by you to chart a route. i have put your plan on a map which i enclose here :

The total from Guwahati to Guwahati comes to nearly 7000 kms. As you said it would be a 30 day trip itself in the NE. Maybe a slightly hectic schedule, considering that we would like to stay at places for a day or two. Would it be too much to ask if we could prioritise this route? we would like a 20 day trip in the NE including stay.

Secondly, we would like to avoid places where there could be some tension, if any.

Lastly, considering that the south of the states would be warmer in March than Arunachal, would it be a good idea to finishSouth first and then North?

Honestly... from my inner feelings... in 20 days enjoy Arunachal properly... you will never ever regret...

Thanks, Sonuroxz, appreciate the offer and take it. My point is that we don't mind spending say 10 days in Arunachal itself ( is that not enough?) and say another 10 days for some of the good sights of the neighbouring states and 10 days for travelling through from Ahmedabad to Guwahati and back, including 3 days at Calcutta.

Honestly ... Arunachal is huge and huge... and always make you hungry...

Do one thing plan for Tawang circuit for a week.. come back to Kaziranga... then few more places.. that will consume 20 days... and remaining 10 days keep for travelling..
