Day 2 - Auckland to Tauranga

Our flight arrived at Auckland international airport at 5AM (NZ time) and took around 1 hours for completing immigration, customs etc...There was not much hiccup apart from that we were carrying cashew nuts, though we had declared it in our immigration form, but the officer at counter failed to recognize it and asked for justification but when I shown him the details mentioned in my immigration form. He happily let us go. We came out, met my brother and started our journey towards Tauranga...which is around 2.5 hours (200 KMs ) from Airport.

Below are few clicks from our journey from Auckland Airport to Tauranga:

Yes, most of the British names are after one or other British Governor or high ranked person.

Day 3 RotoRua
Our day 3 started bit late, slept till 9AM NZ time. Hence started after noon from my brother's home in Tauranga for Rotorua and reached about 2PM to Rotorua, which is 60 KMs from Tauranga and famous for its sulphur hot springs:

Please read more about Rotorua on wiki Rotorua - Wikipedia.

Rotorua city as seen from Rotorua Skyline:

In Te Puia’s Whakarewarewa Valley, there are bubbling mud pools and the 30m-tall Pohutu Geyser, which erupts many times daily, which is also I think their national park as well but closed for the day as we first went to Rotorua Skyline and have taken multiple luge rides. As this was the first experience for us to ride a luge and specially my son likes it.

Rotorua Skyline:

A googled photo of Rotorua Skyline luge:

after spending a nice time at Rotorua Skyline about 2 hours, we came down for visiting hot springs. The geothermal park was closed by then, so we went to Rotorua city where they have small portion of sulphur rocks and a nice park is built around it:
