Request the gurus to help me on this:
Nikon D5100; 18-140mm; Manual mode; Matrix metering. F/5.6; 1/8 Sec; ISO 100;
The moving subjects are blurred but if I use auto mode, pics come out well. why is this happening? I didn't use a tripod. handheld. will tripod be of help to get the correct capture or is there something technical adjustment like shutter speed required to make this pic sharp? I used the range finder and adjusted aperture and shutter speed but result is this](*,)

The blur is always due to the shutter speed. Your shot was excellent at 1/8sec. That motion adds a bit of drama in the scene.
You will not see this blur in the auto mode because the camera will set a high ISO so your shutter speed would have been definitely > the focal length.
You can try setting the ISO up and then shoot so that you can always have a decent shutter speed.

Chalo .......let's go.
The VR in that lens saved you a bit otherwise 1/8 s handheld clicking is horrible. Try clicking at 1/100 at least. For moving subjects it should be 1/400 or higher. Take care of ISO too.
Keep ISO in auto mode.
Min shutter speed 1/200
Aperture priority

Amit bhai, didn't get you ? Sun blast ?
If you mean, over exposure around Sun. That is something you can not get ride of. Unless you wait for Sun to set a little more or use a GND filter. A GND filter will obscure light from top half of frame thereby reducing Sun blast or overexposure in sky.

In general I liked your composition. A couple having evening walk on a rustic beach. You have managed to convey this story to me.
Another thing I liked about this image was clever use of foreground (plants), middle ground (couple) and background (horizon) gives dimensions to this image. Perfect use of UWA lens

What i didn't like
Why did you use 1/13 sec shutter speed and f/22 aperture ? try to remain f/8-f/11 range for minimum diffraction. A faster shutter would have made the couple more sharp.
Horizon looks crooked to me
your sensor need cleaning
