Looks good, though different from the Marcopolos we have running in Delhi. Of course these are city buses, and that too CNG.

Yes Yogesh, its surely different from Marcopolo city buses. APSRTC bought these rear engine Marcopolo city buses under JnNURM to run in Hyderabad and Vizag. Except that these has auto transmission, these ain't that good. The Non AC buses are decent. But the Air Conditioned buses, like ones below, are a problem. Due to improper heat insulation of engine deck, the Air Conditioning effect in the rear part of the bus is very less. Since 33% women reserved seats in the front part of the bus, men have to sit in the rear above engine deck :(. That's not case with Volvo city buses. Though Volvo buses are priced high, they deliver!

How are Air Conditioned buses in Delhi? Are all buses from TATA?

Haven’t used the AC city bus (Tata Marcopolo), since I rarely use public transport inside Delhi, but haven’t yet heard bad things about them from those who have used it.

All new DTC buses are from Tata, though the orange ones belonging to bus clusters (large private operators) are Ashok Leyland.

Haven’t yet seen a Volvo bus being deployed by either DTC or private operators for in city operations in Delhi (few charter buses are there), though there are quite a few of those along with Mercedes on the interstate routes.

+1^ Initially Macropolo was introduced, later on (around 2009) Ashok Leyland was also inducted in DTC Fleet.

As for airconditioning, it is much better than lot of cars, though never experienced in a really crowded situation.

the ac buses in delhi are much powerful ones , the red ones launched common wealth games are really good, they are cng . the ones in hyd are diesel counterparts and less powerful , the state of maintainance is pathetic , indian manufactures need to understand that stu have poor maintainance standards and should come with AMC or some other methodology . The state of affairs in both buses posted is completely different , the green bus has poor insulation from doors while the blue one is better . volvos are not practical in india because they cost a bomb , mostly volvos running in india are in loss because operating dynamics doesnt help indian conditions. the efficiency of that apsrtc volvo bus is 1.5-1.8 where marco delivers 3.5, The auto tranny in these marcos is the crappiest part , tata has a marco hybrid which is doing trials , it is really well built , In europe (spain) tata has the same mechanicals and chassis but the bus built by hispano and difference is phenominal . the divo coach built by hispano is a very good bus ,and when the same shell reached indian waters tata again messed it up completely, they should improve on putting the product thoroughly ,

This is interesting! You have private operators running buses as city services.

So do these buses run like other DTC run city buses, with halts at particular places? or do they stop every where?

You said these pvt buses have orange colour, is this rule from the govt?

How is the maintenance of these buses, any better than DTC buses?

What's the public feedback on these buses?

Can you post few pics of these buses?

Good to know that air conditioning is better than cars in DTC Marcopolo buses. In Hyderabad, my experience with Marcopolo bus's air conditioning is divided, the front half of the bus is pretty cool, no issues even when bus is crowded, but that's not case with rear half. The heat from the engine keeps neutralizing the cooling effect.

Delhi Government has now come out with Bus Clusters, which are run by large private operators, responsible for running, maintaining and procuring buses. Earlier there were blue line buses from small operators, which got phased out due to ever increasing number of accidents and because I guess politicians saw more money in allowing larger operators.

These orange buses (as per government rule) halt at the same stops as DTC ones, blue lines used to halt in the middle as well, if there were passengers.

Haven’t used these personally and don’t know many people who have used it, because in our area, there are few if any. In fact phasing out of the blue lines have caused much inconvenience, because only a handful of planned bus clusters are operating at the moment and DTC simply does not have the number of buses needed on the road.

Will see if I can click a photograph of one of these buses.
