It is better to have registration during Summer Vacations.
They try to keep record.
As public is more in numbers these days.
They may not ask for it but they can ask for the registration for token line, Parking etc.
If case of some mishappening, they can ask for it or it will help them identifying the persons.
It will help them to count the number of people visiting 4 Dham and arrange facilities accordingly.
Govt and Administration are on alert these days.

At Kedarnath Ji they (Police) asked for registration to move ahead from Son Prayag and at exit they scanned the registration card.

At Badrinath Ji, there was no token on first day, so not shown anything.
For parking also they are strict and can ask you for registration. They are not allowing any vehicle at side of road lying idle. Parking is not allowed at any point on Roads of Kedarnath Ji or Badrinath Ji. Place is limited. They have to arrange it accordingly.

After summer vacations, they are more in relax mood and there is not much rush to handle.

A friend who went to Badrinath ji
and returned few days ago:

A couple of days ago I was at Badrinath ji.
There was shortage of diesel and petrol in that area that time.
Fuels were given with max cap.

This resulted in people queuing up at petrol pumps resulting in massive jams. For some a journey of 2 hours became an overnight journey.

Hotels were packed up totally.

2 vehicles also slipped off the hills in this all mess.

Thank god that panic situation didn't arise.....

Be careful to have enough fuel and eatables in your car and to check the route before planning.

Even if you queue up at 3am in Morning, you can't be sure to have darshans before 8-9 am.

Start going in September and continue in October..
No crowd at all.....

Today I have darshan of Badrinath ji. Took me around 2 hours. Yesterday there were jams at various places. Started at 6 AM from Rishikesh and reached at Badrinath after 11 pm. Now diesel is available at places. Yesterday I saw few tankers of diesel going towards the problematic area.

It means weekdays have less rush than weekends.
Specially Long weekends are worst with jam.
Earlier their capacity was not more than their regular consumption or expected consumption.
May be they have done more frequent service of fuel and cash etc.
I hope this year onwards there will be good and more traffic with better roads to Char Dham.
The administration has to work more on the facilities extension too.
2013 is past now.
Hope for the best.
