Banelli has launched their TRK 502 and 502x adventure motorcycles in India today, at a price of Rs. 5 lakh and 5.4 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

Both the motorcycles are powered by a 500cc parallel-twin, producing 47.5 PS of max power at 8500 rpm and 46 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the motorcycle comes equipped with USD up front with 50 mm travel and rear adjustable monoshock.

Even though both the motorcycles are pretty much the same spec wise, the 502x is more off-road oriented touring bike and thus has 110/80-19 front tyre and 150/70-17 rear tyre, while the 502 is equipped with 120/70-17 at front and 160/60-17 at rear.

As a result of this, seat height of TRK 502X is 40 mm (840 mm) more than that of 502 and ground clearance too is 30 mm more at 220 mm.

Both the motorcycles feature a 20-liter fuel tank, which ought to be a blessing for those planning to ride to remote areas.

Dual ABS is standard as well and Benelli is offering Rs. 10,000 Benelli voucher for a limited time to those, who book TRK 502 or 502X initially. The voucher can be redeemed while purchasing accessories or apparels at the time of delivery.

The weight of the motorcycle should be around 210kgs... So if we compare
Versys 650 weighs 206kgs
V-storm 650 weighs 220kgs
GS1200 weighs 240kgs
Multistrada 1200 weighs 190kgs
Enfield 500 weighs 190kgs
Himalayan weighs 180kgs

So it should be ok as per me. The biggest concern for Benelli is after sales service and spare parts. They need to stay in market for customers to gain confidence in them.

Heard on a news channel, dry weight is going to be around 220, which is a tad on the higher side.
