Hello all,

One of my friend is planning a char dham yatra with family including elderly.

Can any one please suggest the decent hotels at:
Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptakshi, Kedarnath, Rudraprayag, Badrinath.

May 2nd week being a peak season, I guess pre-booking is must??

What would be the average budget for 2-3 star hotel room? Please throw some light.

Any first hand info will be really helpful as they do not want to opt for a package tour.

He can get good hotels on the route. Just get clean rooms is enough in season.

Pre booking can't say as not much hotels are there at each place.
Check yourself on arrival.
If in any situation, Main place hotels are not vaccant then he can go to nearby places.
Barkot- Some are available.
Uttarkashi- Available on arrival. He can stay at other places too on route to Gangotri.
Guptakshi- Available on route. Main places are Phata & Son Prayag. Hotels available on route.
Kedarnath - Only Tent accomodation by Govt. on arrival.
Rudraprayag- Many hotels and options available. NH58 is full of good options.
Badrinath- Some good hotels are available. Rest there are Dharamshalas and small stay houses only.

Phaji, I am planing to visit kedarnath temple on kapat opening date 9-May-2016 by self driving from maruti swift, please let me know the nearby places to visit or stay options.

Options are
at Sonprayag.
It will not that much rush on opening.
If you get rush, you can get some kms before better hotels on highway itself.
Drive in day only.
Do Yatra Registration at Rishikesh Bus Stop on highway in morning starting 7am.
It will save lot of time at Sonprayag your last point.
From here you will get Govt jeeps upto Gaurikund.
Start Trek.
Reach Kedarnath Valley and get Govt accommodation in Tents.
Return next day on foot before 5pm in evening at Gauri Kund.

You can visit Chopta in return leg. You will get may hotels at Chopta.
Enjoy trek upto the place you like.

Kartik Swami Temple is also nearby. You can also go there with stay option at starting of small trek.

Hi People!

Can you suggest some very scenic and beautiful stays enroute badrinath, Except Auli. looking for a moderate priced accomodation.
