Though I would love to ride down to Hyderabad to have something which it is famous for, but as for the moment that seems out of the picture. Any restaurant/place/maybe even a thela that offers something as close to the sumptuous biryani you get in Hyderabad?

Noorani at haji ali and luckys in bandra(W) offer decent chicken biryani though it doesnt come close to paradise biryani(chicken is so tender it melts in ur mouth) in hyderabad(secundrabad actually):)

Recently tried borivili biryani center @goregoan station(East)....tried veg biryani ...was a decent affair.

Edit:Its close to your office maybe you have already tried it,Maharaja opposite Gurunanak petrol pump(At jog flyover junction) is a decent quarter bar +good biryani+chicken

I used to eat at kebab corner@opposite gurunank petrol pump earlier....taste was never that gr8 but its popular and hygiene was always a question here....but i stopped after once I said I refused a order asking for bonless instead and I saw the person digging out chicken pieces from my rice(with dirty hands in front of me ).....removing the bones...and pushing it back in the rice and handing me back the parcel.....yucks:mad:

Dont think you would get the typical hyderabadi biryani anywhere in bby ...
though Lucky in Bandra (W) is real good ... heard they have opened branches now ... know of 1 in Vashi ...
had good biryani at Peshawari restaurant in ITC Grand Maratha but its costly (boss was treating so :D )
BBC (Borivali Biryani Centre) also has many branches now ... esp in western suburbs ...

Try Mutton dum biryani in Gajali, its really awsome and waiters usually suggest the same if you ask for biryani. They have branches in seepz (before tunga international), one in phoenix mill and the original one at Parle. This biryani was better than the one i had in five star hotels.

In phoneix, you mean to say the small corner shop.

Dude.... forget all of the above.
Go to Nizam's Heritage, in Byculla.
Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
Order the Dum Biryani, alongwith a nice chilled beer, and you're set to touch the heavens.
