Hi ,

Please suggest if one can Visit Panamik (Nubra Valley) from Leh and stay over Night and next day visit Lukung (Pangong Lake)

If yes what are the options for Stay in Panamik or Hunder as well as near Lukung / Man / Merak.

Can you please suggest how to pre-book the accomodation at these places and let us know if we need to get the permits to travel this route.

Is there any stay option in Pang (heard Tents are available) and how to book it.

PS: Out travel dates are between 18th May to 26th May 2019.

Thanks in Advance.

Yes, you can visit Nubra one day and go directly to Pangong the next. You have to take Agham-Shyok route for the same.

There are numerous stay options at Hunder, diskit. No sure about Pangong side

Yes, you will need a permit to visit all of the above-mentioned places.

Manali - Leh Highway might not reopen around that time, so make sure to keep an eye on the opening dates.

Like Nadeem said, there are numerous options available for stay and you can book them online. However, you will likely get cheaper rates by arriving there and negotiating directly with the camp/hotel owners. Make sure to start early in the morning, the later you reach a destination, higher the charges would likely be.

Ok Thanks, based on the above itenary which places we can pre-book for our accomodation. Can we ride back to Manali on 25 May from Pang, or do we need to postpone our dates?

Thanks in advance

Add at least 1 day to the trip, in Leh. Leh to Panamik takes around 5-6 hours and that too if you get clear road, so you will not be able to do sightseeing in Leh on that day.

Postpone the trip to mid-June. Road condition would be slightly better for a fast paced ride like yours.

Hi Yogesh,

Thanks for your suggestion and will add one more day at Leh. Also planning to postpone the trip for the first week of June (1st June - 10th June). Does the Leh - Manali route will be reopen by then?

Also let know how to get the permits and from where in Leh (i think DC Leh). and also let me know what sectors are to mentioned in the permits to cover Nubra and Pangong.

Thanks in Advance

Manali route should be open at that time.

You can get the permit online at LAHDC Leh Permit and for your route, you just need permit for Nubra Valley and Pangong Tso.
Thanks Yogesh for the information and your valuable suggestions. As of now there are no more queries for our trip to take place, if any will post back on this forum for your suggestions :)

Thanks in Advance
