Chennai to Chennai via Golden Quadrilateral, need advice

I am planning to do a Chennai to Chennai GQ travel in my car.

I will be driving alone with my Skoda Octavia Diesel car​

The plan is to start from Chennai on 5th October and back by 16th October​

Would like to know places I can stay (prefer to stay in a better hotel to get some good sleep)​

good food joints, I am vegetarian​

good fuel pumps (preferably COCO bunks)​

documents to carry​

route to take and condition of the roads​

a place to visit on the city I stay or en-route​

I am planning to drive between 7 am to 7 pm max while driving in West and North & 6 am to 6 pm while in east​

One day mandatory day stay in Mathura where my sister is living, one more break in between​

Few suggestions,
Add a stay at Delhi, its worth visiting India Gate.
You can add a stay in Agra for Taj, but don't buy "Petha" there.
In Varanasi, don't miss the chat.
If going to Jodhpur, try "Mirchi Wada" and Kachori.

P.S. Jodhpur, is not a part of GQ, if you want to stick to GQ, go via Udaipur.

I already visited Delhi with family and covered places including Agra. Since my sister is in Mathura, I am planning to stay there. I shall see if I can make a visit to Agra or Brindavan.

I want to do GQ, so will change my plan to go via Udaipur. This is really a good information, and I will not miss the chat in Varanasi.

Anyone has any idea about the road condition between Varanasi to Calcutta?

This would be an amazing trip for you. Try to explore local places wherever you go, it might increase your travel days but it will be an unimaginable experience. We also did golden quadrilateral in 2019 on our road trip from Chennai to Chennai. Have a safe and enjoyable road trip.

Any Idea about the road condition between Varanasi to Calcutta? I watched few videos and not seen many restaurants, where can I stop for good veg dishes? I am planning to start around 5 am from Varanasi. Any precautions I have to take, any surprises I should watch out for etc..?
