@Sahrawat
Some friends are planning to go next week to Churdhar.
How is weather there now ? Weather must be good by now...last week when i was in Kinnaur , the temp was like ( 25-15) ..but it must cooler during the night at churdhar considering the altitude
How many hours it will take to reach there from Delhi to Rajgarh ?
In a self driven car 5 hrs from delhi to Panchkula & then 2.5 hrs to Rajgarh ( total 7.5 hrs)
Which route is better ?
Delhi Shimla or Delhi Nahan - Rajgarh ?
Delhi Shimla is certainly better than Nahan one.

Do we need guide these days or traffic on trek will be more than normal ?
We can ask people on the move ?
Usually the trek is open once the snow clears, at times as early as mid april...you can expect traffic to be normal. Still, give a call to Mr Satish Sharma 9816326776 , and he'll update you of current situation.

He is a local at Norhadhar....never stayed at his place but the person is very helpful and doesn't mind strangers calling him, he is happy to help as always. Got his number from bcmt only.

The place is infamous for the gusty cold winds and even more for temperamental Himalayan bears. I Recall, Last year we had to spend a night at same place and remember our guide didn’t had a nap entire night and was sitting guard by the fire outside of our tent. He didn’t joined us even we had enough room to accommodate him. We had also spotted some pugmarks next day in the vicinity. May be the threat of wildlife is real and eminent.
Very ture. Cross wind section at Teesri is really bone chilling. It was 6 degrees after midnight in Oct, 15 but felt more cold because of chill factor of high winds. I shared one incident in other related thread that a local man was killed above teesri by a bear in Sept-Oct, 15 as told by shopkeeper at Teesri.

From Teesri ....there are two ways which lead to the temple complex. I wasn’t sure which one to take. The left one offered magnificent views of greater Himalayas so took the north one.
We took the left one also. When we were ascending from Teesri, we never encountered familiar faces (who overtook us while going up) coming down. Your post solved the mystery. They probably took the other route while descending.

Soon i spotted the Trident & flag on the top of the peak some 200 meters above me, which means i can at least find a shelter in the cave underneath it for the night. A fellow bcmtian Sidharth has told his tale how he and his friends spend the 11 hrs in a cave beneath Shiva Idol when they lose their way.
We did not notice any cave on the way to top when we went there in Oct, 15, may be we fixated our eyes on Shiva Idol. Do you mind sharing pictures (if any) of that cave or area around??

If the trek has been opened (which should have been opened by now), then there will be pilgrims going up and down all the way and on weekends & auspicious days, pilgrims are more than usual but not much. Pilgrims are more than willing to help and guide. Moreover, local shopkeepers at Jamnala and Teesri who run refreshment huts are cooperative and they can be asked for help.

A guide may be hired for help in carrying the baggage and preparing food etc (if planning to pitch tents). He can also show you around interesting places like the one local which we hired in 2010 or 2011 who showed abyss near jamnala few meters off the trek.

I have phone numbers of shopkeepers at Teesri and of Pujari of the temple, they can be asked about condition of trek. Will search and post.

Mule (Khachar) available there ?
Ladies and child of 7-8 years can do this ?
If they require Mule in between the trek then what are possibilities to get Khachar ?

Give me no. of shopkeepers..
What about one ashram which is after Teesri ?
Visit is worth ?
How to find way as there are many trails.
Few Y points also.
Is it possible to move on a plain trail without going up and down in middle of trek.
First 2-3 km is good incline and last few km also good incline.

@Sehrawat Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Bhaaji, replies are in bold.

Mule (Khachar) available there ?

Nope. Mostly locals visit the mandir and they do the trek on foot. Further, this place is not commercialized.

It really depends on individual. I have seen grandmothers moving like as if strolling in the plains. But for a person like us with sedentary lifestyle, it is not an easy trek. To make things less challenging, overnight stay can be planned at Teesri. I have seen few kids aged 10-12 years old too. Given boundless energy and enthusiasm kids have, i think kids can do it if given multiple and frequent breaks. The trek distance is about 18 KMs one side taking around 6 hrs for locals and the path is like stone steps most of the time till Teesri.

If they require Mule in between the trek then what are possibilities to get Khachar ?

Not possible as explained above.

Give me no. of shopkeepers..

Mr. Rinku Pundir -- 9816330048, 9882462314 (shopkeeper at Teesri)

Sh. Ramesh Chand (PWD rest house), Nohradhar --- 08894851809 [was posted at that time]

Sh. Satyapal Sharma (Pujari) --- 08628841897

Visit is worth ?

Sorry. I am not aware of it. After Teesri, it is temple and a dharamshala only at the top. Correct me if i am wrong.

How to find way as there are many trails.

There are not many trails. Moreover, you can easily spot the widely used prominent trail. Further, there are fellow pilgrims on the way to confirm. Some noble soul has also placed directions en-route.

Few Y points also.

Hold on to the main trail and you are good.

Is it possible to move on a plain trail without going up and down in middle of trek.

First 2-3 km is good incline and last few km also good incline.

I didn't quite understand the question though will try to answer. First few KMs are really pain mainly because body is directly put into strenuous work without proper conditioning. Few patches here and there are plain trail, then incline for some distance and then some relief (read plain trail). Immediately after Teesri, it is relatively plain trek for some distance. Then there are few places where you feel exposed as there are loose stones, pebbles and hopping over rocks.

Samtal jameen beech me hai kya ? Samtal is a relative term...the gain in altitude is from 2100 mts to 3900 mts , nothing is samtal literally.
thakaan to nahi hogi beech ke trek per ? Thakaan to hogi no matter how fit one is , locals are exception.
chhoti chhoti pahadiyan hain ya kya hai ? Never underestimate Churdhar...that's why i said "Lesser but not the Least"
