Gurugram, April 8
Panic gripped Gurugram after Traffic Police announced the non-entry of private vehicles in Delhi from 10:00 pm on Thursday.
Traffic police issued the notice on their verified Twitter account.
Following chaos at the border on Wednesday due to restrictive entry and COVID checking as per the latest directives has left millennium city harried.
Moments after the issue was shared on social media, those using personal cars to drop or pick up from airports, the employees of local bars and pubs, and those crossing Delhi on the Expressway went ahead seeking their future course of action.
"We have got a letter from Delhi police asking us to sensitise our staff about the same. Delhi has a night curfew and people should avoid any unnecessary travel to save themselves from hassle," said D K Bhardwaj, DCP Traffic, Gurugram.
With this announcement, there has been a rush at the Sarhaul border of people trying to get in Delhi before curfew commencement.
Heavy police will be deployed to filter traffic before it entering Delhi.

A BCMTian on 8th April 2021 reported this and he spent night in Hotel at Jalandhar.
Don't Drive in Punjab at Night.

There is night curfew in Delhi also. People should avoid unnecessary travel and cooperate with Authorities in following rules and regulations.

Rajasthan government today issued an order making the RT-PCR test mandatory for people entering the state and those traveling outside the state.
The order further stated that "Classes 1 to 9 will remain suspended. DMs can impose night curfews but they will be required to seek govt's permission for curfew before 8 pm and after 6 am."


"Excluding the takeaway and delivery services, restaurants should abide by the night curfew. Not more than 100 people will be allowed at weddings while cinemas/theatres/multiplexes will be closed," the order further stated.
According to the guidelines issued by Principal Secretary (Home) Abhay Kumar, the government also restricted the number of people at social gatherings to a maximum of 100.
College classes, except for final-year students, will remain suspended during the period but students can take their practical exams with prior permission.
Nursing and medical colleges will remain functional as earlier.
It will be mandatory for the travellers from outside the state to submit a negative coronavirus test report, not old than 72 hours before arrival in Rajasthan.
As per the guidelines, the night curfew will remain in force from 8 pm to 6 am. Dining at restaurants and hotels during the curfew hours has been prohibited while home delivery of food has been allowed.


Swimming pool operations will also remain suspended during the period.
The Rajasthan government also advised people not to undertake inter-state travel.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan on Sunday reported 1,729 fresh coronavirus cases which pushed the infection tally to 3,39,325, while two fatalities took the toll in the state to 2,829, according to an official report.
One death each was reported from Ajmer and Nagaur districts, it said. The fresh cases included the highest of 258 in Jaipur, 225 in Kota and 194 in Jodhpur, the report issued here said. A total of 3,23,618 people have recovered from COVID-19 and the number of active cases at present is 12,878, it said

The Rajasthan government has made it mandatory for people to produce a negative RT-PCR Covid test report on arrival in the state from Thursday.

People arriving in Rajasthan from other states will have to produce a negative RT-PCR Covid test report from Thursday (March 25), the Rajasthan government said in its order. It said the test report should not be older than 72 hours from the time of arriving in the state.
If the passenger does not have a negative Covid report, then he/she will have to stay in quarantine for 15 days.
"In case of an emergency, a special permit might be issued to the passenger," Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said.
Earlier, a negative report was required only for those arriving in Rajasthan from Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
As per the Rajasthan government's order, passengers will also be tested at bus stands, airports and railway stations. Also, markets across Rajasthan will be closed after 10 pm.
The state government's order further said that night curfew will be imposed from 11 pm till 5 am in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Sagwara and Kushalgarh.
In the wake of festivals, the Rajasthan government has asked people to celebrate Holi and Shab-e-Barat at their homes.
"Rajasthan has come forward as a model state in the fight against coronavirus...The death ratio has been low over here. The decision regarding [the celebration of] Shab-e-Barat and Holi have been taken in view of the crowd that [usually] gathers during these festivals," Pratap Singh Khachariyawas told India Today TV.
As per the data released by the Rajasthan Health Department on Wednesday, active Covid-19 cases in the desert state have crossed 4,000-mark.
On Wednesday, a total of 669 coronavirus cases were reported across the state, out of which 106 cases were from the state capital, Jaipur.

Many road commuters heading to Gujarat have been caught unaware about the need for having a negative RT-PCR test report before entering the state. Since April 1, over 700 motorists traveling from Maharashtra to Gujarat border at Talasari in Palghar have been turned away from the border by Gujarat Police.
The Gujarat government had last month decided that anyone entering the state will have to carry a RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours starting April 1. Only those having a medical emergency, like cancer patients in need of chemotherapy, victims of road accidents and facing similar problems, were exempt from this rule.
However, unaware of the rules, many motorists traveling to Gujarat and Rajasthan, after traveling hundreds of kilometres till the border, were turned away by the Gujarat Police.

Memichand Jahangid, a businessman from Rajasthan dealing in furniture, said: “We have to go to Rajashan for a religious function. So, we took the antigen test today morning. We did not undergo RT-PCR tests as it would take a day for the report to come and from Friday 8 pm, the weekend complete lockdown will begin in Maharashtra.”
“We have to be in Rajasthan on Sunday. I showed the police officer the RT-PCR test reports conducted seven days ago but he said the reports can’t be older than 72 hours. Nine of us have come all the way from Pune in two cars.”
Abhishek Khandelwal, who was returning to his home in Rajasthan after a week’s trip to Goa, said: “I had no idea about this. I will have to stay back a couple of days to get tested now.”

The ones who have undegone RT-PCR tests also have to wait in a bee line for hours as the reports of each and every traveller is being checked. The Gujarat government has erected temporary sheds at the border for officials from municipality, collector’s office and police for the purpose.
Bus driver Hanif Khan, a resident of Rajasthan, said: “Our bus is going to Jodhpur with 30 passengers. We have been waiting for 90 minutes. We had asked all passengers to get their test results but the verification process is taking time due to the long queue.”

A Gujarat government official said, “At night, there is a lot of rush and the traffic increases. In the afternoon, motorists have to wait for less than 15 minutes but as the traffic increases, the waiting period increases too.”

As novel coronavirus cases surge in the national capital, the Delhi government on Saturday announced fresh set of Covid-19 restrictions in the city to curb virus spread.

The order also stated that cinemas/theatres/multiplexes will be permitted to open with up to 50% of seating capacity.
In addition, swimming pools in Delhi to remain closed except for training of sportspersons participating in national, global events.
Delhi Metro, DTC and cluster buses to run at 50% capacity, the order further stated. It also added that marriage-related gatherings are allowed up to 50 persons. Restaurants and bars are allowed up to 50% of the seating capacity.
The authorities also added that colleges, coaching institutions to remain closed in Delhi in view of the rising cases. "Students of classes 9 to 12 may be called to school only for academic guidance and support for mid-term exams/pre-board exams/annual exams or board exams, practical exams/project works, internal assessment with the consent of parents," the DDMA order stated.
Moreover, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority of the national capital also issued a fresh order for passnegers arriving from Maharashtra. Under the new order, it will be mandatory for people travelling by air from Maharashtra to Delhi to carry a negative RT-PCR test done 72 hours prior to arrival. If found without report, mandatory quarantine of 14 days.
The new guidelines and Covid-19 curbs come hours after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ruled out the possibilities of a lockdown but stated that stricter restrictions will be implemented soon.


He further said that Delhi currently has seven to 10 ten days of COVID vaccine stock.
Speaking to reporters outside the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital here today, Kejriwal said, "If we are provided with enough vaccine doses, age bar for vaccination is removed and we get approval to open more vaccination centers on a larger scale then we can vaccinate people within 2-3 months in Delhi. Currently, we have vaccines for 7-10 days. There will be no lockdown. New restrictions will be imposed soon."
He further said that Delhi is witnessing the fourth wave of coronavirus, adding that there is a need to speed up the vaccination process, curb the spread of infection and improve hospital management to curb the spread of infection and control the rising number of cases in the national capital.
The Chief Minister has been reviewing the COVID-19 situation for the past many days. "Today also I held a review meeting at the LNJP hospital. The Delhi government and all the hospitals are going to replicate the level of preparations we had in November last year when infections were increased during the third wave and the doctors, nurses and health professionals had successfully tackled the situation."
"During the meeting held today, I was updated on the requirements of the hospitals which we shall fulfill. We will not let Delhiites suffer," he added,
During his visit to the LNJP Hospital, Kejriwal was accompanied by Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Kumar Jain and AAP spokesperson Raghav Chaddha.
Meanwhile, Delhi reported 7,897 new COVID-19 cases and 39 deaths in the last 24 hours. The city has 28,773 active cases.
According to Delhi Health Department, the total count of cases now stands at 7,14,423 which includes 6,74,415 recoveries and 11,235 deaths.
A total of 77,374 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, including 43,473 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 33,901 Rapid antigen tests.
