Hi,
We are a couple looking for another couple/ or individuals to share the taxi trip around Ladakh in June (dates are still tentative and can accommodate requests). We are from Mumbai and would be flying in directly to Leh. I am also open to taking requests from visitors looking to do part of the journey.
The route that we plan to follow include:
Diskit -> Hunder -> Turtuk -> Pangong Lake (via Shayok) -> Hanle -> Tso Moriri (via Tsagala) -> Leh (via Tso Kar) (en route Hemis - Thiksay - Shey)
The above plan would roughly take 6 days in total
Additionally, we also plan to do the following locations in and around Leh town in a single day:
Tsemo -> Leh Palace -> Shanti Stupa
I have already interacted with a few very well-reviewed drivers in Ladakh and have received a quotation of around Rs. 42,000 for an Innova (top tier vehicle) for the entire trip (including airport pickup/ drop). This is below the Ladakh Taxi Union published rate of around Rs. 46,000. Prices for Xlyo (2nd tier vehicle) will probably be even cheaper. All categories can accommodate up to 6 passengers although we would prefer only 2 more for comfort and easy storage of luggage.
