Cycling from Dehradun to Joshimath

Hello All,
Coming Oct 1st week, I am planning to ride from Dehradun to Joshimath on locally rented bicycle which is close to 300kms
If I decide to do this, this would be my first long bicycle ride ever that too in the hilly terrain.
So i have lots of questions.
To start with,
1. is it doable? means do the roads/terrain/altitude allow for cycling in this region?
2. if yes, then aprox how many kms one can try to cover per day if ridden for 8h per day? (someone who has already done can give some idea)
3. anybody know about cycle rental agencies in Dehradun? more interested in electric bicycle. Found one in rishikesh, but not sure yet if he can deliver it to me in Dehradun as i start my journey from Dehradun

1.
If you are ready and have practice of 50-100 km earlier then it is ok.
Otherwise practice first in hills only then decide.

2.
It depends on your stamina only.
A person from Dehradoon did all Yatra to Kedarnath Ji Temple at top.
Yes.
He is an experienced cyclist.
Aged too.
40+

3.
If nothing is in Dehradoon then take it from Rishikesh few days earlier.

i am not having experience with riding more than 50km per day. as you suggested, i will work towards improving my stamina.
however i am counting on electric cycle. i think with help of electric cycle, it should be comparatively easier to climb the hills. but as of today, i have never ridden electric cycle so dont have idea how it works. people who have experience in this regard please enlighten me.

How many times you have gone in hills on a Cycle ?
Experienced people can say that you can go easily.
But it is You only who can check own capacity.

A cycle has some wattage and battery capacity too. You need to charge it at after particular km /hours / capacity.
Ask about this to the renting person.
Do some practice in hills first.

Target between 50-100 km per day is achievable according to one's capacity.
Go till the sun light is there and nearest staying destination is achievable.

I can't move on cycle in hills as it is difficult for me to climb on it.
Ascends difficult to move ahead.
Descends have brake problems.
I can run on cycle whole day in plains

well i am yet to explore hills on cycle.
in Bangalore, its never a plain road. everywhere ups and downs but of course not comparable to hills.
the cycle that Rishikesh renting agency has indicates avg 60kms per charge( Electric cycle on rent, Cycle tours & trip manali-rishikesh, E-bike rental india ). in hilly roads, lets hope it gives min 40kms.
since hills are combination of both ascends and descends, the battery will be used only during ascends. so i am hoping with such a cycle, i can cover 80kms per day minimum.

There are some hills near Bangalore. Little bit ahead.
Please go on holidays and explore there about your stamina.
Try to do cycling on Nandi Hills, Hosiery Hills etc.
You can get idea.

You have to cross many such hills.
Check videos for Rishikesh to Rudraprayag.
Rudraprayag to Joshimath on youtube, facebook, instagram etc....
Gradients in video or image seems less always.

Gradient in hills are different on different types of hills eg. Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Soil etc.

I have done cycling in Delhi but it is totally a different experience than hills.
Some small hilly areas with low gradients, Flyovers, Traffic, Red Lights etc etc are here.

Homework : Do Nandi Hills up and down in single day.
This will be your 1st exam.
If you are happy after the day.
You are fit enough to go from Dehradoon to Joshimath at your own pace. Enjoy the ride.

This is exactly my plan. Which Cycle and how to recharge is the question.?

@satinder: thanks for your inputs. nandi hills is my favourite. will ride to it soon.
i have no doubts hills are going to be much more daunting than anything i can see, learn or imagine now. i have close to 4 months in hand and i will try to prepare as much as possible.
@city monk: see the letsplayy link i have given. i dont know which branch cycles they have but i will check with them and update here. they give charger with cycle. i am guess each charging cycle will take upto 5hrs. and as per their site, fully charged cycle would give upto 60kms.

i got a quote of Rs.450 per day for ebikes from lesplayy. They are their own branded cycles. custom designed is what they told. i think they have more presence in manali than rishikesh.
funny thing is in bangalore, i am yet to find a renting agency which rents out ebikes.
