The idea is for a willing and interested 'group' to utilize this upcoming holidays for some adventure.


Hello Folks,
Since many of us find our friends unavailable/unwilling for the time/trips when we can find the time and energy, I am posting this thread for like minded people to explore the opportunity of the coming long weekend for a trip to the hills with new friends.

There are 4 holidays in the upcoming December 15 Month - 24 (Thu), 25 (Fri) ,26 (Sat) ,27 (Sun). Taking leave for 21-23 (Mon - Wed) one can easily find a nice long stretch from Dec 19 to Dec 27 (whopping 9 days) (for people who normally have Saturday Off, and 8 days from Dec 20 to Dec 27 for people with second Saturday off).

So, this thread is for anyone who wants to join/suggest a trip between these dates, ex. Delhi. I suggest a trip to Auli (5-6 days) or Himachal etc. A friend or two might join although it seems pretty unlikely at the moment.

You can bring your own vehicle (2/4 wheels) or share a ride.

Persons - Trustworthy Individuals/Professionals/Couples.
Max people - 3.

Preferences (while sharing vehicle):
Eating : Veg.
Smoke: No.
Drink: No.
Language: No Obscenities please.

Destinations Preferred:
Himachal. Uttarakhand.

Some say Yes and cancel at the last moment, some keep dilly dallying. A lot of people always seem to have other priorities - like wives, job etc. :D

Sounds interesting to me :) Can you post some potential itineraries?

Although I don't drink I do have an addiction. People who have been around here for some time will know :D

Nothing too elaborate. I am thinking of doing the AULI run. That should take 5 days ex-Delhi. Earlier had planned to go to Corbett first but depending on people/company/no of Days, that can be added or subtracted.
In short, Delhi - Corbett (Optional) - Joshimath (Stay) - Auli (Skiing) - Delhi. Flexible with dates (withing 19 to 27th) and destinations (UK or HP).

Except for the skiing part I am good. Corbett is in my bucket list for a while now. But will we get accommodation and safari booking in these busy days at all places?
