My vote goes for Sennheiser too, I own one and that was the best deal for sound so far.

Form factor. And the problem is not the form factor, it is the 'open air' design, which, in a way, Sennheiser pioneered!
If only you can press them a little more to your ears the bass deficiency will almost disappear!
People with larger heads (more brains?
) will find them to be less deficient on bass! The spring tension of the head band will keep them pressed tighter against the ears! Great headphones, no doubt!

Have read at a few places that 201 lack bass and need an amp to drive it properly.
I've given the major problem - press harder against your ears and the problem goes away!

Do notice that the pressure exerted against the ears will depend on the size of the head that is wearing them!
Go for the Sennheiser PX 200. It gives you an amazing sound quality and a lovely bass, neither too much, nor too little. Watching movie rips on my E71 has never been better! Don't have to worry about noise cancellation too. These are on hear headphones which feel lovely on the year and you do not have to press them to the ear to get that bass and noise cancellation.
I've been using the phones for more than a year now and not one complaint. PX 200 comes with a neat case in which it will fold and the case is really sturdy. It has survived my usage

I agree, but longevity was one of your criterion
Quality does come at a price, and this is German quality at that.
I remember paying 3.3K INR in Bangalore. I'm sure you'll get it for quite a bit cheaper if you get them from US.

Get the Senny HD202! Amazing lows, mids, 50mm bass driver (also found in some models of Creative!), you can even heard the gun shells dropping sound in Crysis 2 warhead, hardly audible in other HP!
