Hello friends,

I am planning a one week trip to Udaipur from Delhi. Here is the plan:
  1. Start on 23 Dec, 3 AM from Delhi
  2. Breakfast at Jaipur by-pass route
  3. Reach Ajmer at around 11 AM
  4. Visit Ajmer Shariff and start again at 1 PM
  5. Reach Udaipur by around 9 PM
  6. Stay at Udaipur: 24 & 25 Dec
  7. 26 Dec: Start at 6 AM and visit Ranakpur and Mt. Abu and back to Udaipur by night
  8. 27 Dec: Start at 6 AM reach Chittaurgarh and visit fort
  9. 28 Dec: Start at 6 Am and reach Jaipur by afternoon
  10. 29 Dec: stay at Jaipur
  11. 30 Dec: start from Jaipur at 4 PM and reach Delhi by around 10 PM.

I'll be travelling with my wife, 17 years son and 72 years mother on Honda Amaze.

Do you see any adjustment is required anywhere? Please suggest.

On 23rd Dec, if you managed to start at 3AM from Delhi, you'll very easily reach Ajmer at 10AM with a shortish 30 minute halt in between.
In Ajmer, park you car in some safe area and hire a full autorickshaw for going to Ajmer Sharif. It's in a very congested area where cars can't go. Donot get tempted to visit other places around it. All are a waste of time and energy.
Get back to your car, top-up the fuel and drive towards Pushkar. Just a distance of 14 KMs but a fantastic place to be visited with family. You can start from Pushkar at 3 PM towards Udaipur (via Ajmer again). Roads are good enough. You can reach Udaipur (300 KMs) in less than 6 hours without a halt in between.

Stay at Udaipur on 24th Dec. One day should be sufficient to visit couple of famous lakes (rest are all same, need not visit all of them), monuments and fort of city. Start early in morning for sightseeing. Shopping can be done in evening.

On 25th Dec, go for Ranakpur and Mount Abu.
Udaipur - Mount Abu takes about 4 hours one-way.

On 26th, stay at Mount Abu. Relax, as you are with your mother.

On 27th December, you can reach Chittorgarh from Mount Abu directly (without halting in Udaipur) by 1PM (if starts from Mount Abu at 7AM-ish).
Chittorgarh Fort requires only 2 hours max. Move towards Jaipur same day at about 3pm. You'll easily reach Jaipur by 9pm same day.

Spend 2 full days in Jaipur, 28th and 29th. Visit forts, other monuments, and indulge in shopping in old city area. Ladies in your group will bless you! :D

On 30th, start from Jaipur at 7AM sharp. You'll save all traffic mess within the city. Halt at Sagar Ratna just after Behror flyover, on your left, before the start of next flyover. You'll be in Delhi by 2PM and save yourself from Gurgaon mess on a Saturday evening! :)
