AUSTRALIA
The Trailer
When I came back to Australia in April 2014 it was a short trip for two months. So I came here with the clear objective of completing the work and going back to India. As fate would have it, 2 months became 6 and I was still here.

With the Diwali vacation around the corner I decided to get my family over to Melbourne and planned a short trip to Sydney as well. And the mandatory trip to the Great Ocean Road.

Chapter 1 - Melbourne Memoirs

My family's Australia trip was long time in the making. The original plan was for them to come over in the summer holidays. But due to delays in visa processing, the trip never materialized. And my two month trip eventually extended till November and Diwali vacation came by. I decided to finally get them over.

The plans were still in the making. I wanted to take them over to Sydney and Gold Coast apart from spending time in Melbourne. However both kids said they were not interested in any rides and Gold Coast was removed from the plan.

Accommodation:
The arrival in Melbourne coincided with some really busy times and all hotels were in the average 300 AUD per day range for the initial week. Finally I got a serviced apartment in Melbourne CBD through Astra Apartments. Centrally located opposite the Southern Cross Station and at 150 AUD per day for 1BR+study was brilliant.

Day 1:
We just walked around in Melbourne and around the Crown Casino along the Yarra River.
