Hehe, we've come a long way from OP's budget stipulation!
Whereas he said he found 25 lakhs to be "toooooooo big", we're now throwing things at him that cost in excess of 35 lakhs! :p
Well done!

You can also think of bolero camper 4x4.. if you want to avoid force traveller..its a low budget, reliable vehicle.. just visit some sites like expeditionportal or overland.. i think handling of force travller will be difficult on bad hilly roads as compare to any small vehicle,.

I am not advising him to buy it. I just showing him what can be done with Mahindra Genio or similar pickup from Tata, which will be more apt at handling rougher terrain than Ace etc. though they will be understandably, more expensive.

Well, its not 25 or 35 lacs but its from my requirement point of view that budget is too high.
I think its not wrong exploring even it costs 50 lacs...:)

Check out this promotional video of PCP Terra, they have built it on Mahindra Genio and it looks a perfect option for families. Of course fabricating something like this on your own would be tougher than taking a tempo traveler and modifying it, but it is worth checking out.

If I understand right, Mahindra Genio is similar to Tata 207 (pickup), right?
and it might not be more in length and width than a Dost....
So it is achievable...seems present caravan mfgrs are not fully exploiting the space.
In such a case, more can be done with proper space management in eicher & traveller....

If we see, this can accommodate 2 in front also, if there is an opening between driver cabin and caravan, it would be more good.

But to be honest, the presentation of this ad is a big dud...
rather than a person explaining the features in detail, they give usage of it in various cases and all characters explain the same thing.
I think people can figure out that based on the features.

Nevertheless, thanks to Yogesh, I never came across this anywhere in my past searches...

Yes it is like 207, however in remote areas it is usually Mahindra vehicle I have seen, very few Tata ones. As far as I know, this is supposed to be bigger than Dost, though I could be mistaken. Btw you can also rent it for 8-10k per day, so if you are only planning to travel few days a year, then at least for 2-3 years, renting would come out to be cheaper than owning one.

I agree Yogesh. Thats what I thought after one of our member replied suggesting it.

To be honest, I became a bit wiser on my project by posting here.
I thank one and all for their excellent suggestions.

BTW, came in contact with a CAD designer, with whom I am discussing the project.
If there are any updates from my side, I shall share.
