It was December and i had not gone for a trek for a long time. i called some of my friends for the same but none was interested in a trek in "So cold".
Anyway i decided to go solo as usual. by then my younger son Mridul Verma, who is studying in Punjabi University Patiala and stays there in hostel came over. he was having some days off due to Christmas holidays.
I decided to take in along as he is also a trek maniac and had done some couple of treks with me and his friends.
We zeroed upon Dodital lake in Uttranchal. it was on my wish list for a long time. last time when i planned to do it solo, our legendary adventurist Tilak Soni has advised to take some local person along. so though this time we were not having much stuff with us, but still we were carrying our tent, sleeping bags and eatables so we decided to take one porter cum guide along.
i got phone no of Mr Balwir Panwar from BCMT and contacted him. he was so glad to have some business. he was already having a group of some Bengali trekkers on the same dates, so he planned to meet us in Uttarkashi.
as scheduled we both father and son took a bus from Chandigarh to Rishikesh in night and reached Rishikesh at early morning at 2.00 am.
it was damn cold there, the first bus to Uttarkashi was on 4.00am, so we had to wait there.
we reached Uttarkashi on 11.00 am. Balwir was waiting us. after some time and lunch, we took a taxi to sangamchatti and then trekked to Bebra.
Balwir had already called some local hotel owner to Bebra and we didnt had to pitch our tents. actually we didnt had to pitch tent anywhere and stayed in hotel. as Balbir had called local hotel owner at Dodital even, and we decided to stay there in .
here are some photos till bebra.
