Thanks Aky - Tell you what, I am not good with my memory. I did this trek when I was in my first year in Engg and remember the top was a camping ground indeed. Many thanks for re-igniting this memory and surely this will be a good option to begin with and camp overnight there are the top.
My pleasure. You can also go further till Ilaka Glacier area , it's 4km from Triund.
Good Luck !

Stumbled into this wonderful thread, many thanks to Mr. Top Singh Bodh for having taken this initiative to provide all sorts of information required for a fulfilling Himalayan sojourn. Others who have chipped in pearls of wisdom gained through their own experiences too deserve praise. Sadly enough I have realized that the Travelogues still boast of off-roading, and many photographs still show travelers standing or leaning with their shoes on the Pass Stones. My humble request to the Moderators-can these be edited before-hand, as people might mistake them as normal conduct.

I dont know why people preffer non veg, even at the places of spritual importance.. just google the history of places or lakes before you order your porters to arrange non veg at your camping site.. and people show intense hunger for non veg. Yaar you can eat non veg after completing the trip..
So,Its my sincere request to all, please avoid non veg near the holly places of uttrakhand or himachal.

One observation which I made, people coming from other states drive just like they drive in plains, Overtaking from left, Overtaking on blind curves as nothing will come from the opposite direction. Please enjoy your stay, follow the traffic rules life is very precious.

The travelers come Kullu-Manali and take photographs to write travelogues but they forget their life. Last year in 2014 about 35 boys/girls from IT Hydrabad went to the bank of river Beas to shoot pics and they all were drawn in the river and died. Their dead bodies were recovered from the Pandoh Dam. The Govt. has now put boards along the Beas river not to go to the river bed. Similarly the HPTDC Hotel Beas Manali has also installed warning boards to away from the river Beas and don't go to shoot films but the travelers go there and many died there. Here is a pic. the travelers even tried to reach in the middle of the river. Please don't do it.
