Travelling bug bit me in 2010, when I went through his ladhak travel logs. Post then travelled regularly to lower the itch to bearable level.

I have been planning to do coastal trip , they never got implemented.
Due to covid there came an opportunity to work from home and then the trip planning and implementation happened.

The plan was to travel with my 8 years Safari storme which has already clocked 1.2 lac km. With time it also has it moods and tantrums on all the trips. Never faced them whenever travelled with Yogesh, however always faced them when travelled without him.

So decision has to be made based on history of trouble's and there learnings till date. However leaving haathi was also not an option as it has enough space to live-in and work from car option..

Post diwali the preparation began. Problems to take care were..
1. A bed would be needed if want to sleep in car .
2. Power solution needed to work from car.
3. Enough space needed to store car and mine spares.

To tackle the problem of sleeping in the car I went to aluminium fabricator and bought a 17 feet 1 inch square pipe. This square pipe will be used to creat the frame for bed which will be placed in the boot and jump seats will be removed as they are not needed. Frame was made to have a storage under it and seats were folder and levelled to the frame to have sleeping bed of approx 5 feet enough for me.

Intially I tried to cut and join the aluminium frame , while working on that I realised that it will be good to reach out a fabricator as he will have all tools , so I tried many fabricator but they quoted the amount very high as 2000 inr. Fortunately I was able to find a person who did this for 600 inr.
Bed frame in progress

So finally sleeping and storage solution was ready .

Now next challenge was to have a battery pack to power my laptop. However having batteries won't solve the problem as you need to feed them up regularly so that you can milk them on regular basis. Answer was to connect them to the car battery and charge them while on the move and once you stop isolate the battery from the main car battery. For this you a proper wiring and switches which would be able to handle that.

To be continued...

Interesting. What was the route you followed?
The trip is still on, its day 7 of the trip.

Today I reached Vijaywada and fortunate enough to get free overnight parking at Decathlon..

Route I took Gurgaon-Agra-Narshingpur-Balaghat-Rajanandgaon-Bhanupratpur-Kanker-Chitrakote-Araku-Vishakapatnam-kakinada-Vijaywada

To tackle the power problem I picked up my 90AH battery and connected them in parallel with car battery and two 2 way switch , one to charge the battery from car battery and other to switch to choose the battery from which inverter withdraws power. And few leds were also placed on the same switch, so car can be illuminated properly without draining car battery.

Allout was taken along as it will help me sleep without any mosquito songs.

Also I bought 'cane' , it's a net like thing which is used in females gowns which give them bulky look. This cane was again hand stiched to cover doors if I have to sleep with open windows and allow cool breeze to enter car and keep mosquito out.

Few more things were also picked up
1. A 5kg lpg cylinder and gas stove single burner ,just Incase of an emergency to cook food.
2. A 3v motor and a propeller was lying idle so I combined both of them to work as a air circulator (fan) which can be used on a power bank .

3. 20 liter water bottle which can be refelled at any RO water plant.
4. Sleeping bag, an AC blanket and few bed sheets.
5. Action camera was also bought to create video, as smartphone would be busy to entertain and lead the way ..

To charge usb device I bought few quick charging module from AliExpress which has been working flawlessly. I like them as they costed me less than 300 inr (1 quick charging module 15 watt and 2 module for 2.4 amp).

10000 mah Power bank fully charged is capable of running the fan for approx 5 hrs.

With all these things trip started on Sunday morning.
