Day 5 (Lachen -> Chungtham -> Lachung -> Yumthang -> Zero Point -> Lachung):
We were already running late from the scheduled time. While travelling to North Sikkim, never plan without a buffer time because there isno certainty at all. Anytime anything can happen so always be prepared for whatever comes your way. One whole day was wasted due to landslide and health issues. So today we had to cover Zero Point and stay at Lachung. Without any halt we entered Chungthang fast. Made some more copies of the permit. Already had hotel booking in Lachung because the hotel owner of Lachen had a friend’s hotel out there. Made an entry in the hotel, dumb the bags and transverse to Zero Point.
Bye bye Lachen...
On the way to Lachung
Ready to move for Yumesamsong (Zero Point)
At the onset of the rhododendron sanctuary, everyone was overwhelmed with joy. The beautiful flowers and the bright colors brighten everyone’s face with a smile. For me and my wife it was the 2nd turn so the joy was a little less. Rather we could notice that most of the trees have been cut down and show there were less flowers in the area. At some places due to soil erosion the plants has been uprooted. My past pictures in this sanctuary looked stunning.

I had learn that a new lake has also formed before Yumthang valley. Recent earthquake has brought down a complete hill and the rocks have rolled down to the river blocking a small part of it. This small part formed a new lake.
the new born lake before Yumthang.
