Durga Puja 2022 in Kolkata

In love with mountains
Every year, we look forward to the Durga Puja holidays because it provides an opportunity to travel somewhere. All of those travelogues are already on this site, and I believe many of you have read and appreciated those.

Things are different this year, however, as we neither have the money, nor the wish to travel somewhere. Recent events have affected and changed our lives completely. It's difficult to cope with the situation we are facing, but we have to accept it and move forward in life.

Since we were in Kolkata, we decided to walk around a few puja pandals in our locality. Later, that got extended, and we even visited some in north Kolkata. I will post the pictures soon. Stay tuned!

Day 1: Panchami (30th September)

We decided to visit some pandals in our vicinity, which are known to attract a large crowd during the main days of the puja. Even though it was panchami, the crowd was quite less, and nearly nothing compared to what it was reported in the newspapers for the following days. Picture quality is not great, and a bit pixelated because we thought that the mobile camera would suffice (Galaxy M31), but that proved to be wrong when we checked the pictures at home. From the next day, there was no compromise.

Finding that the crowd was quite less compared to our expectations, we decided to visit Babubagan the same evening.

Babubagan

Their theme was numismatics. A unique theme, indeed.
