Hi, can I put 5W-40 fully synthetic engine oil in Ertiga diesel 2017 model for better performance. Please suggest a brand too.

As said, go by owner manual.

I think 2017 would be fiat multijet 1..3 engine???
If yes, manual will ask you for 5w-30, not 5-w40. Both are not same.
Stick to manual.
Most 5w-30 are semi or full synthetic.

Hi, finally put Shell Helix HX8 5W-30 which i bought from Amazon and costed ₹2199 for 3.5 litres.
Results are amazing, car is running extremely smooth.
One thing I want to mention is, I requested ASS to give me the duplicate copy of last service bill. I was surprised to see that they used 0W-20 in last servicing. As far as I know the approved grade is 5W-30. How come they used that grade and charged approx ₹3500 for it. Should I file a complaint against the dealer to the maruti Suzuki company??

You can definitely ask them why did the upgrade the oil other then the specified one.


When I was back in India I remember the SA used to ask which grade I wanted to use.
