Engine Repair of Pulsar 150

Since 15k kms my bike was sounding weirdly (knack sound), currently it had covered 19k kms. Yesterday I showed the bike to mechanic and he changed
1. Timing chain
2. Clutch Plate
3. Pressure plate
4. Engine oil
5. Valve
6. Air filter
7. Gasket
8. Some nuts
When I informed about this repair to my friend, he told me that it is overhauling of engine and the mechanic has fooled me.
Now, I want to know whether the mechanic has fooled me by changing these parts at 19k kms and charging Rs.3500 or it was necessary repair.

Is it OK now ?

Is it a new bike ?
15K km covered and you had some sound.
It can be anything that can go wrong.

Experts can only say about which type of sound you mentioned.
Tappet or any internal part can get loose and can damage more parts.
Can't comment on this.

You can take 2nd opinion.
If any such situation arise again.

Yes, it's new bike purchased in 2017. Currently it had covered 19k kms. The sound is coming since 15k kms.

It is not half engine rebuild, that would have involved changing to piston kit and would have likely cost you around 9-10k.

Next time, take the motorcycle to service centre. You would have likely needed to get the tappets adjusted and maybe timing chain changed, unless there was some issue with the clutch as well.
