Beautiful view from Swayambhu Temple20th Sept 2019:
We reached Kathmandu and it took some time to complete the immigration and collect luggage (huge rush in the mornings as many flights land). Even our Fly Dubai landing was delayed due to busy airstrip. Tribhuvan airport has one strip.
We then took NCELL 30 days validity prepaid connection for Nepali Rs 800 (it gave 5 GB 4G data and 40 mins talk time). I had read that NCELL have a good network on EBC area (It did not work after Namche Bazar). They need a photograph and passport copy for the connection.
We were received by Explore Vacation representative and transferred to our hotel in Thamel "Hotel Marshyangdi". We checked in, freshened up and were hungry as we had skipped breakfast. We went for lunch as Supriya was to land at 13:00 and we were sure it would be late to wait for her. Had Everest beer while waiting for lunch. Food in Nepal is always freshly cooked.
Then we did some shopping (backpack cover, dry fit T-shirts, pants, including water purification tablets. Rabi was to meet us at 17:00 in the hotel lobby to update us of the trek and introduce their tour manager Ram. Supriya had checked in and joined us for the meeting. We exchanged some money (I exchanged UAE Dhs) required for the trip (NRs 15K) and for balance payment to Explore Vacation.
Rabi told us that our flight to Lukla was at 8:00AM (Sita Air) and we had to leave the hotel by 6 AM. We were given duffel bags and told to pack 10-12 kgs only and our back pack to 3 kgs.
We repacked and then all 4 went to Thamel market for second round of shopping and then took a hotel taxi to Pashupatinath temple for darshan and seek blessing for safe trek to EBC.
Had early dinner and went to bed thrilled that the trek was to begin.

Night view of Kathmandu from Swayambhunath Temple.
Hi DriverBeautiful view from Swayambhu Temple
Is there a entry fee here at Swayambhu ?
OK, ThanksHi Driver
I am not sure. We did not pay anything as we climbed the steps to the temple from East side and it was past 7:30 PM when we reached the top. All kiosks were closed. Sorry could not provide you your information correctly.
