Planning for a drive from Delhi to Auli. Wanna know if anyone been there in recent.

    1. How are the roads?
    2. Manageable for lower GC vehicles?
    3. Chances of snow peaks (Nov 2nd week, too early I know)?
    4. What's preferable, break journey and first stay at Rudraprayag, Srinagar or Karnaprayag or straight to Auli?

As I practice, I always start early from NCR (3.45- 4.00 AM)

Roads are good. Don't worry. Just go.

    2. Manageable for lower GC vehicles?
    Yes.

    3. Chances of snow peaks (Nov 2nd week, too early I know)?

Possible as it snowed recently on higher reaches.

You can easily reach Auli in dark if you get charged in hills.....
Target to reach Rishikesh around 8-9 am and if not stuck in Roorkee office traffic
then you can easily reach around 6-7pm to Joshimath.
Auli is little ahead around 15 km.
    Ask directions at Joshimath.

    Thanks.

Just reached out my contact at Dehradun for GMVN bookings. Site says 2400₹ plus but I believe it's within 1500₹ around as I read. Would target Joshimath in one go. Stay planned at Joshimath GMVN.

Planning is to start by 3.45 AM so can manage to reach before 9AM if all remains in control. Been that side many a times, just didn't went beyond Rishikesh. Want to stay for 9, 10 and 11th. Temple, Auli in mind nothing else. Anything else to see?

Return would start at early morning 5.30AM on 11th

You can goto Badrinath ji Temple also for few hours of drive as it is 40km one side.
Road is little off road for some kms after Hanuman Chhatti but managebale.
Last some kms are well tarred as heard last year.

You can visit Mana village, Last Shop of India in a Temple Premises, Vyas Gufa, Vasundhara Falls 5km walk after parking etc.

Try Malari side and SDM issues pass ahead on Malari road.
    or
Go till you are stopped on a checkpost.
Drongirri Parvat is also worth seeing from road.

    Check for details:

There is small patch of 100-200 meter between pandukeshwar and lambgad a very bad patch...
Rest of the Road from Joshimath to Badrinath ji is good.
This is recent report as few months ago a BCMTian went there.

    Booking is done.
Trip is settled for reaching by 9th Evening and leaving by early morning 12th.

Let's see how things pan out there when I reach. I believe local transport must be available in plenty for Hemkund and Badrinath both, in case.

    Yes.
    Make a day trip.
Take local taxi for Badrinath ji.

Hemkunt Sahib at upper Gurdwara is closed on 5 /10 October.
    Ghangharia Gurdwara also closed.

May be Govind Ghat Gurdwara will be open.

Trek is also closed for the Hemkunt Sahib this season.

But there are some villages where people live.
Mostly they move to Joshimath or ahead for winter season.

Oh didn't knew that it would not be possible to reach Hemkund Sahib by now. Due to snow or unpredictable weather? Chances to reach snow area? Read about some clear water lake as well after some trek from Auli

Due to snow in winters and dangers involved by cold weather, Yatra is closed down. No facility of hotel, food, drinking water etc on Trek route.
Trek is also of 13 km in up- down moderate grade. Next part at Last leg is a 6 km steep incline (stairs as alternative for last 1 km after Glacier) and have glaciers too to stop movement anytime. Even going alone is not advised due to wild animals.

No one lives there at Ghangharia or above.
Police may stop you at Govind Ghat. However you can go till Pulna Village which is now motorable road. Ahead is Trek of 9-10 km to Ghangharia. Police may have check post here also.
This comes in Nanda Devi Biosphere. Keep this in mind.
    Population is almost negligible here.
Pandukeshwar is little ahead of Govind Dham towards Badrinath ji. (2-3 km)
Only Pandukeshwar may have some persons living there in winters.
You can get rooms there too if stuck for any reason.

Better move to Badrinath ji for Vasundhara Falls and do Trek of 4km one side.
Mana Village is also 4-5 km ahead of Badrinath ji.
Mana Village and Vasundhara Fall will take your whole day easily after Darshan at Temple of Badrinath ji.

No idea about lake near Auli.
    However,
There is a little man made pond in Auli, not lake, easily reachable.
