If you intend to buy it only for city ride, there is no need of suspension at all. I ride a hardtail ( one with the suspension on front wheel only) even then I feel if you don't intend to ride offroad, better to buy with no suspension and preferably one with thin tyres. Fat tyres really need a lot more effort to ride. IMO the weight of the cycle would be aroun 10-15kgs so if you buy a bike carrier ( would cost about 5K) there would not be any problem at all.
BTW what is this cycle costing?

I need to only occasional weekend rides (city+ offroad). Also the above bike has quick release on front and back wheel, so I think, it it easy to carry in my Alto car. For off roading single suspension is sufficient?

Price is 11k

For entry level hard tail is good ( I assume that you are not going to do any hardcore offroading). Secondly if you are buying this bike only because it has quick release, just to tell you, you can always convert your wheel hub to a quick release later. IMO concentrate on getting a good cycle, these minor mods can be done later. Check Decathlon in Zirakpur for rockrider and Darshan Cycles in sector 37 for raleigh. Last time I checked they had good cycles in your budget + about 2K.

This weekend I have checked the Decathlon North Country Mall showroom and also took the ride of Tata stryder cycle too. The model which I have selected was Btwin Rockrider 340 and it has front quick release option and the attended told me that to make rear wheel quick release it will cost around 600. This bike does't have disc brakes and but was too light to carry and very much smooth as compared to Tata. Also I found the riding position on Btwin cycle are very comfortable but Tata doesn't. The cost of Btwin was 14k. I am in a dilemma now to spend this much amount or not.

The Mohali cycle shopkeeper guys told me that they have some brand Kross and it will cost me around 10K. Please suggest me about this brand. Or should I have to wait for some more time to check I really need a cycle or Not :D.

I am using btwin 340 for last six months without any problem, just check the size which will suit you according to your height and adjust the saddle properly you won't face any problem.

How much it will cost? And how the brakes? have you ever felt disc brakes are necessary?

It cost me 12500/-. I cycle around 20-30kph, I never felt disc brakes are required, caliper are equally good. What will be your main use and how many km will you be cycling daily. For city ride go with hard tail.

Its actual price is 14k but there was discount in Oct so the difference. Before buying check the size M,L according to your height If your height is around 5' 6" to 5' 9" go for M size. Adjusting Saddle height is very important.
