But sir, all those are 2.6 liters engines, while this one will have 2.2 liter engine. Of course I did mean, designed by Mercedes, not manufactured.

If my memory serves me right, the engine of Force / Matador was an ancient Mercedes engine once used in Mercedes Tourer. The entire plant that made the body and engine of the Tourer was dismantled and Matador bought it along with dies, machinery, etc. That engine is being presented to us in various forms from Gurkha, to Traveller, to SUV, with minor modifications to meet emission and FE requirements.

As far as I understand if a company is dismantling its old plant they would scrap it and destroy its dies, patterns, fixtures so that no body else can copy it. I am into OE Supply and even rejections are returned after rendering it unusable. Mercedes scrapping its plant with dies & fixtures is hard to digest.

Force One website says the current engine is manufactured under licence of Daimler. Actually Force Motors has been manufacturing various critical components for Daimler since many years and hence they have very good rapport

Hi sir oriole guru....
Recently Force motors spend around Rs. 1800 Cores of rupees for thier newly build factory at MP for large scale productions of temp0 traveler and Force One SUV and MAN Trucks, because of the license and copy right act from great Daimler Benz the main engines are imported from Germany And remaining other components parts made and assembled at newly factory bay.

PS---
The company which mainly operates in commercial vehicle segment, entered into Personal Vehicle segment on 19/08/2011 and launched its first SUV named Force-One

The company manufactures trucks at Pithampur, the industrial hub of Madhya Pradesh in Indore in a joint venture, Man Force Trucks Pvt. Ltd, with MAN AG of Germany. MAN Force trucks are exported overseas to countries such as Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and certain African nations; markets where a low selling price is essential. The JV was dissolved as on March 2012 with Force Motors having sold and transferred remaining 50% of Man Force shares to MAN AG for Rs 10 per share.

Tractors are built under the Balwan and Ox, (formerly Tempo Ox), brands.

Breaking JV factors is the main reason Force motors are struggling but nationalized indian banks are supproting them strongly (more finance are providing them)

IMHO Force still makes gear boxes for Mercedes Cars. Their specialisation is gear grinding for noise free ride. And they also assemble engines / gear box assemblies for Mercedes. But they cannot use those engines in their vehicles. Surprisingly the Gurkha 4X4X4 launched recently still does not have a high RPM diesel engine.
