Hi All,

I have a question regarding 360 VR images that we see people publishing on various social apps / websites. For these kind of images we do have specific cameras.
I wanted to know as , is there any way by which we can create a similar 360 VR image from our normal android handset (say Moto G4 plus that I use) and share them across other social networks?
I read online that there is an app as Google Cardboard camera, but after creating the image one has to use a VR cardboard. In this case, image can't be directly shared across.

Thanks,
Suneesh

Just my 2 cents about such pics on Facebook.

Click a panorama image of nearly 180 degree.
When you'll upload on FB, it'll automatically turn it into VR type image. It did so for the pano shot I took from my iPhone.

I just now tried with my Moto handset (Panoramic mode) and posted on FB. Unfortunately it got posted as a normal 2d image.
Then I tried with couple of apps - panorama 360 camera and Google Cardboard Camera : When I created a panoramic image and posted on FB, it worked.

So, I guess Apple might be providing an inbuilt feature that automatically adjusts an image created with panoramic mode.

How to ascertain the " shutter count " of any used DSLR?

catch me if you can
Click a photo. Check file name. usually file name recycles from 0000 to 9999. Depending upon the usage pattern of the original owner and age of the camera you can have a rough idea about the shutter count. But it would be guesstimate only. Canon high end cameras (beyond 5D) allows to check exact shutter count by EOS utility.

Hi All,

During my recent visit to hills, I was trying to shoot waterfalls /flowing water with milky effect.
I kept my shutter speed from 1/4 - 1 and aperture around f/16- f/22 in bright sunshine. Iso = 100 with cam stationed at tripod.
My pics were too much exposed and was unable to shoot a pic with greater clarity and milky effect.
Can this be due to absence of a ND filter or there could be some other reason as well ?
If ND filter absence was the issue, can anybody please advise a good ND filter that I may use on my Nikon D5200?

Thanks,
Suneesh

You were probably overexposing by keeping the shutter for too long. You have to keep eye on the exposure meter and not randomly slow the shutter speed.

In such a situation, first click at the longest exposure you can without over exposing the image and then click some 15-20 images more. Then merge them all in Photoshop/Lightroom to get long exposure equivalence.

For example, I took around 20 images at 1/20 of the seconds and merged them all in PS to get the below effect.
20 images at 1/20 of a second will get out an equivalent exposure of 1sec.

Go through this video tutorial, I applied the same technique.
Watch from 2:40 mins for this technique.

Of course, getting a ND filter is an easy way to do it. But till you buy one, you can try this out.
