Gir Forest Accomodation

A friend of mine is planning to visit Gir forest at the end of December. He will be accompanied by 4 other families. So he is basically looking for accommodation for around 5 families. Its a mix group of elders and kids.

They will be reaching Junagarh station by train and from there they will hire a bus to travel around.

Can someone kindly suggest good accommodation for them close to Junagarh and also close to Gir forest? By 'good' accommodation I mean

1. Family friendly

2. Kids friendly

3. Neat and clean

4. Good service

5. Safe and secure

Budget, to a certain level, is not much of a constraint till the above requirements are met.

Any suggestions guys??

Thanks & regards

This is peak season and I suggest you don't venture there before having confirmed booking.

Thanks Prasham. I understand this is peak season hence this exercise. Will look for recommendations regarding hotels/resorts and then ask my friend to make immediate bookings!!

I suggest you try out some travel portals like mmt or ct or such as time is of the essence now. For quick reference on the available properties, then check with tripadvisor.

BTW what's the budget ?

I along with family visited Gir in June, 2013 and stayed in 'Lion Safari Camp', which had high ratings as per Trip Advisor and booked two deluxe tents to accommodate two adults & two child in one tent and two adults and one child in another (Considering my son & daughter as adults), we fixed the deal at Rs. 15,500/- including lodging and food i.e. dinner, breakfast & lunch for one night and one day. The tents were air conditioned, safe, nice & clean about 2/3 kms. from main gate. For view of the tents please visit http://www.bcmtouring.com/forum/travelogues-west-india-f62/visit-surat-gir-diu-t53546/.
