Just back from the region and we spent overall 3 nights at the Syalsaur GMVN Tourist Village. The staff and the Manager are an efficient team, very rare for Govt employees. The rooms are nice and clean and the location is pretty indeed. However they should provide a room heater in winters and not all rooms have a geyser in the washroom. The food was pretty good too. Overall, we it was definitely a good and positive experience.

Cheers,
Shamik

Yes its amazing. We were there on 23rd and 24th night.
From what I have seen KMVN and GMVN in non very touristy places have amazing hospitability.
Kausani(expensive though), Chaukori, Munsiyari, Syal Sur.. All of these places have excellent staff and the rooms are very good.

Syal Sur has amazing views too!

Very nice place, a real gem in GMVN's kitty. Was there on 25th. Surprised to hear that all huts don't have geysers - ours did.
A very big thank you to the person who started this thread so that we got to know of this place

Was planning to go there in the month of June 2013 around 20th.. Just spoke to Mr Pradeep @ 09568006645 (no provided in this thread). He says it would be very hot and crowded and suggested me not to visit.. Was really excited to go there as the place really looks good. Anybody who has visited this place in June and willing to share his or her experience... I have plans for 19-23 June 2013..

Thanks

crowded or not at your dates, that you can check on their booking website, but it would be definitely hot in June, plus you will not find any snow at Chopta.
