We decided to check in our luggage at the Portside Motel and visit the 12 Apostles National Park. We had several spots to visit in the area including the 12 Apostles viewing point, Gibson's steps, Loch Ard Gorge, The Arch, Grotto and London Bridge. In the interest of time we decided to visit only the 12 Apostles.
Sunset at the 12 Apostles
The 12 Apostles are a geological wonder. They are formations that people come to view from afar. The formations they are viewing have formed in the last 6000 years (the time that sea levels have been at their current height). It is likely that the structures have been formed due to erosion of the limestone in the structures along the coast.
When we reached the place we were greeted by some amazing sunlight. This was a dream setting for the monumental sight.
